Join us for a webinar featuring Dr. Susan Buchbinder, who will give an overview of key
lessons learned and implications for High Impact HIV Prevention. Dr. Buchbinder will discuss
recent advances in High-Impact Prevention (HIP) for HIV from CROI including: recent
advances in HIV testing, PrEP, reaching at-risk populations, treatment as prevention (TasP)
and prevention of mother to child transmission (PMPTC).
Participants will learn about:
• Specific advances in HIP for HIV from CROI
• Discuss how to apply these lessons to their local jurisdictions
• How to access Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) services from the San Francisco Health
Department in the areas of HIV Testing, Prevention for High-Risk Negative Individuals and
Policy/Jurisdictional Planning
We will end with a Question & Answer session along with an overview of how your health department can
get free assistance on building capacity in high impact HIV prevention. We also encourage everyone to

Dr. Susan Buchbinder is the Director of Bridge HIV and Clinical Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology
and Biostatistics at UCSF. Dr. Buchbinder focuses her research on risk factors for HIV acquisition and
interventions to prevent HIV infection, including HIV vaccines, PrEP, behavioral interventions, rectal
microbicides and combination modalities. She serves in leadership positions in the HIV Vaccine and
Prevention Trials Network, and has participated in numerous NIH and UCSF advisory committees
including the AIDS Research Advisory Committee, Prevention Sciences Working Group, Office of AIDS
Research Advisory Committee, the UCSF Center for AIDS Research Internal Advisory Board, and the
UCSF AIDS Research Institute Scientific Council.
