Four Mile Run Pump Station
Construction Update
As part of the Four Mile Run Pump Station upgrade, AlexRenew will begin the reconstruction of two
manholes next to Cora Kelly School. Work will commence in April. To complete the reconstruction,
we must install an above-ground bypass line and pumping equipment for about six weeks. For safety
purposes, the temporary pump and piping will be fenced off, and we’re working to make sure we don’t
inconvenience the school or sport activities!
WHEN:
APRIL - MAY 2015
Work will largely be conducted between Monday
and Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

WHERE:
Work is underway next to Cora Kelly School for
Math, Science and Technology and adjacent to Frank
Mann Field at 3600 Commonwealth Ave.
HOW WILL THIS AFFECT YOU?
You will be able to see the temporary safety fencing
around the pump and pipes around it. There will be
some noise.
FENCED-IN PIPING
We are working with Alexandria City Public School
facilities staff and Parks and Recs staff to coordinate
efforts so school and athletic field activities are not
inconvenienced.
