RESEARCH
2009-2010
2007-2010
Immunology
Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY
Examined viral immunity in patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID).
Specifically, looked at the production and function of type I interferon after viral infection
in patients with CVID with and without lung disease.
Immunology
Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY
Evaluated patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) for the presence of
DNA radiosensitivity. Recombination defects were examined by transfecting fibroblasts from

2007
2008
2001.2002
1995-1996
CVID patients with the RAG1 and RAG2 gene. Abstract selected for oral presentation at the
2009 AAAAI in Washington, DC.
Food Allergy
Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY
Determined the characteristics of peanut allergic patients who outgrow their peanut allergy.
Specifically compared skin test size, peanut specific IgE and peanut IgE epitope binding of
those who passed versus those who failed oral food challenge.
Food Allergy
Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY
Examined food allergic consumer responses and attitudes regarding legislated and voluntary
food allergen labeling subsequent to the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act
(FALCPA). Abstract was selected for participation at the food allergy press conference at
the 2008 American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Annual Conference.
Food Allergy
Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY
Determined the prevalence of multiple food allergies in a pediatric food allergy referral
population. Also determined were associated atopic conditions, which foods were avoided the
most and rates of anaphylaxis. Abstract selected for oral presentation at the Aspen Allergy
Conference (July 2008)
HIV/AIDS
Gabarone, Botswana
Took a voluntary year off from medical school to work under Dr. Max Essex (Harvard School of
