The 4th French Animation Film Festival returns
to Alliance française on 22nd, 23rd and
24th May with a selection of the latest
French successes and greatest classics
of the animation film industry. This year
the event is presented as part of Voilah!
2015, the signature annual French festival
organised by Institut Français Singapour
(French Embassy) in partnership with the
French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore
held from 4th May to 21st June. This year,
key highlights of the French Animation
Film Festival include Oggy and the
Cockroaches, a worldwide hit broadcasting
in over 150 countries on major networks
and family entertainment Yellowbird
comprising a cast of international animators
and voice talents.
With its eclectic programming, the festival
targets not only children but also adults.
Critically acclaimed movies like Jasmine,
Aya de Yopougon are set to attract a
broad audience. Set in 6th century China,
108 Demon-Kings, sold internationally
by Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp, should appeal
to all ages and to both Chinese and European
sensibilities. As we do for all our film
festivals, we offer a full film experience
including meetings with talents, Q&A
sessions and cocktail parties.

Synopsis: Welcome to Yopougon,
a working-class neighbourhood
of Abidjan in the late 70s. This

The best of French cinema for francophiles
and moviegoers
Once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, we screen an animated movie for children.
Kids are offered a free “goûter” (croissant, pain au chocolat, fruit juice) before
the movie. Discounted prices are offered to members.
As part of our regular cultural programming, the Ciné-Club screens a French
movie with English subtitles every Tuesday night in our renovated theatre. With a
film selection dedicated to an actor, a director or a specific theme, it is a wonderful
window over French culture!
