SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

PRINCIPAL POSTINGS
What a glorious day it is when we are able to welcome into our school community the
grandparents and special persons who are so important in the lives of the children at
ASCS. This year, we added in a rousing game of bingo! Getting over 600 grandparents
together with our 585 children is not a small task; however, team Home and School,
team Office Staff and team Teachers all pulled together to create a wonderful morning
for all! A special thanks to Fr. Sean and Fr. Bill for offering a blessing on our grandparents too!
Last week we held our Open House at the West location (Providence Catholic
School). We had 26 families attend the event. It was a wonderful event. The school
and Saints In Training buildings looked fabulous. Angela Gunderson, 3rd grade teacher at our North Campus has accepted the position of Director of Student Support/Lead
Teacher at the West Campus. This move will allow Angela to bring her new baby to the
Saints In Training Center and cut down on her commute from Waterford. I feel confident that Mrs. Gunderson’s teaching and administrative skills as well as her deep faith
will help us create the ASCS climate and culture at the new location.
Jessica Lorbach, the K4 teacher at the North campus, has accepted the position of
Saints in Training Director for our three centers. She has been busy hiring staff, setting up classrooms and creating a space that best reflects our beliefs and values about
Early Childhood Programs. We are excited to have Mrs. Lorbach in this new role. Her
early childhood experience, deep love for the Lord and the Catholic Faith as well as her
love for the children made her the perfect person to take on this new role.
With May fast approaching, there are a lot of things happening. Included in this newsletter is some information on our Scrip program (page 3). Please consider purchasing
Scrip. We have earned just over $6000 thus far for our school. We would like that
number to be closer to $8000 this year. I have over 30 applications for tuition assistance sitting on my desk, Scrip would be a wonderful way to earn money to offset your
own tuition. It also allows us to help other families attend ASCS.
Blessings!
Dr. Jackie Lichter
Together we will teach children to see the world through the eyes of Christ
and to model the lives of the Saints in a rigorous academic environment.

SCRIP NEWS . . .
We had 22 families order scrip this week for a total amount of $6165.00; earning a rebate of
$288.05. Half stays with the school ($144.02) and half is returned to the families ($144.02).
Thank you to everyone who supports the scrip program! Can we reach $8,0000 before the school year
$8000 IS OUR GOAL….
HELP US CLIMB TO THE TOP!
Problem: We have raised $6233.93 this school year- $1766.07 below our goal! Beyond that meager goal, if we had more people participating in the scrip program, we
could easily surpass $10,000 annually.
Impact: Half of the money raised through scrip is returned to the families in the
form of a rebate check in June. The other half remains with the school. Money
raised benefits all students and families as it helps off-set tuition increases for all
families, helps supply funds to the technology program, and supports the strategic initiatives that make us a successful, growing, highly recognized school of choice.
While $8000 is not much to do all of these things, the money raised through this program is earmarked for the benefit of all students.
Solution: On Monday, April 25th, 2015 students are eligible for free dress if their
family member submitted an online scrip order between now and Sunday, April
24th.
Online forms and information regarding scrip are available on the school website under forms.

Last Friday, a local author and good friend of Mrs. Walther
came to visit the 3rd graders at ASCS South campus. She
read us her newest book Jacob's Hoop. Mrs. Franco's first
book, Just Hold My Hand, was published in 2013. The
books tell stories about Jacob (Karen's son) who has special needs. She hopes each story will help those without
special needs understand more about others that do have
special needs.
If you are interested in purchasing either book($10
each) please send a check into school made out to 'Karen
Franco' and indicate which book(s) you would like. She will
drop them off at school for us.
The North campus finalists included Allyson Vaughan (First Place), Mason Marcelain (Second Place),
Allison Westphall (Third Place), Emily Kelly, Elaina Kobal, Alexis Perez, Sara Backus and Asa Preston.

All Saints Catholic School advances to the 2015 District Speech Contest. On April 20th, the Modern Woodmen District Speech Contest
was held at Randall Consolidated School. Eleven contestants participated from Kenosha, Big Bend, Twin Lakes, Waterford, Walworth,
Oconomowoc and Muskego. The top three will compete at the State contest on May 18th and from there become eligible for the National contest. Congratulations Paul Capelli for representing our school with your speech about Stonehenge--An Important Landmark. All
participants had to have their speech memorized. They each received a medal and positive comments sheets from the judges that offered advice and encouragement. Judges wrote, "You have a great future in public speaking," "Mighty talented speaker," and "You
drew me in and made me think." Way to go Paul!
