A PAGE FROM MY JOURNAL- Reach for the Stars
I am in O Levels now, and will be writing my IGCSEs in a matter of months .I have always thought, “I’ve got everything figured out”
I assumed it was all PERFECT!, about my further studies, until the career counseling session in our school conducted by Mrs. Winnie
Vasquez , Education Advisor representing the universities in the United States of America from Education USA .
We were briefed on different aspects of college life and how to go about the procedures for admission to universities in the US . All that any
student needs to know was marvelously elaborated and clearly explained in the presentation. The interactive session was utilized by students to
clarify their queries and concerns regarding the procedures and requirements.
The options are limitless, we need to identify our chosen career choice and go for it….

Past Forward
Got admission into Al-Majd International School into grade 4 in the year 1998, after graduating from here in
2006; I choose Engineering for my higher studies. I went to United Kingdom to pursue Electrical and Electronics
Engineering at Brunel University, and graduated from there in 2010 with a First class honors degree.
At present, I am in Canada at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, pursuing Masters of Applied
Sciences in Electrical and Computer Engineering. It is a research based degree, and my focusing is into Power
Electronics area which is an emerging field in electrical engineering. I am hoping to graduate this year in July.
I believe my schooling at Al-Majd International School raised my standards, opening my mind to the world full of
opportunities and possibilities. Teachers and staff at Al-Majd not only encouraged me to work hard and follow
my dreams, but they also guided me throughout this important phase of my life. I am grateful to my parents for
choosing Al-Majd International School and putting their trust in all the teachers and staff members.
This is one of my favorite inspirational quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, it is inline with how I think and believe; “Do not follow where the
path may lead. Go instead to where there is no path and leave a trail.”
