• 1 pair each 3.25mm (UK 10) and 4.00mm (UK 8)
knitting needles or size needed to give correct
tension.
• wool needle for sewing seam.
• pom pon maker or piece of cardboard (Style H
only).
TENSION
These Beanies have been designed at a tension of 22 sts
and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm
needles.
To work a tension square, using 4.00mm needles, cast on
33 sts. Work 42 rows stocking st. Cast off loosely.
Check your tension carefully.
If less sts to 10cm use smaller needles, if more sts use
bigger needles.

Follow basic beanie pattern using these colours –
Cast on using Colour 1.
Rib Band –
Work in Colour 1.
Stocking St and Crown –
Using 4.00mm needles for rem, work 4 rows Colour 1.
Change to Colour 2 for 3.5 (4-4.5) cm.
Change to Colour 3 for 3.5 (4-4.5) cm.
Change to Colour 4 for 3.5 (4-4.5) cm.
Change to Colour 5 for rem.
STYLES G1 - G5
Follow basic beanie pattern using these colours –
Cast on using Colour 1.
Rib Band –
Work in 2 row stripes of Colour 1 and Colour 2.
Stocking St and Crown –
Using 4.00mm needles for rem, work 4 row stripes of
Colour 1 and Colour 2 for rem.
STYLES H1 - H5
Follow basic beanie pattern using these colours –
Cast on using Colour 1.
Rib Band –
Work in Colour 1.
Stocking St and Crown –
Using 4.00mm needles for rem, work 2 rows Colour 1
and 6 rows Colour 2.
Rep last 8 rows twice more.
Work rem of beanie in stripes of 6 rows Colour 1 and
2 rows Colour 2.

Using 3.25mm needles, cast on 106 (110-114) sts.
Rib Band –
1st row – K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to end.
2nd row – P2, * K2, P2, rep from * to end.
Last 2 rows form rib.
Work a further 8 rows rib.
Stocking St –
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Work in stocking st until beanie measures 8 (10-12) cm
from end of rib, ending with a purl row and dec 4 (0-4)
sts evenly in this row … 102 (110-110) sts.
Crown –
Medium and Large sizes only –
1st row – K12, sl 1, K1, psso, (K1, K2tog, K22, sl 1, K1,
psso) 3 times, K1, K2tog, K12 … 102 sts.
Work 3 rows.
All sizes … 102 sts.

Break off yarn, thread end through rem sts, draw up tightly
and fasten off securely.
TO MAKE UP
NOTE – We recommend using mattress stitch to sew up
your beanie.
With a slightly damp cloth and warm iron, press lightly on
wrong side, avoiding rib band. Join side edges to form
back seam.
Style H only – Using Colour 1 and a large pom pon
maker or two circles of cardboard 12cm in diameter with a
3cm hole, make a pom pon and attach securely to crown.
