Body Balance : Brian (physical therapist) brings his jokes, knowledge, and enthusiasm to help our members improve their balance. Chore Wars/Clean Up : Take pride in maintaining a clean environment. Everyone joins in a task to keep the place clean wipe down, sweep up, restock supplies, wash windows, recycle, unload dishwasher, etc. Club How To: Participants engage in “doing” activities. Examples include ‘how to’ tie one handed, make origami, make pottery, garden and much more. Creative Conversation : Our volunteer speech therapists get survivors talking about everything under the sun. This is great for people with aphasia, but others like it, too. Current Events with Dave: Spend some time catching up with the world around us and keeping ourselves informed, because KNOWLEDGE is POWER! Give Back : Volunteering our time and efforts is a great way to help out others in our community, and it really makes us feel good about ourselves, too. We do a variety of activities to help others in this class. Goal Check : Everyother week, we set measurable, realistic goals and help each other brainstorm how we will achieve them. We also share our progress and celebrate our successes! It’s Up to You! : You get to chose what we do! The only rule is that you must be doing something. Life Management : Stroke survivors participate in activities that focus on wellness, role satisfaction, stress management, selfawareness, coping, support systems, and various other topics. Monthly Focus : Each month has a theme. These activities focus on exploring the theme of the month Morning Muscle Moves : Get your muscles awake and flexible! These moves will also be great to do at home when you’re not at the ASF. Music with Maggie : Maggie our music therapist is an allaround fun gal. She brings us songs and laughter. Did you know that music helps our brains? Maggie will tell us how! Out & About : Each month, we take trips out into the community to explore new places and learn new things. Perks of Week/Weekend Events : Reflect on fun times by looking at pictures taken throughout the month. Looking for something to do over the weekend? We talk about events in the community too! Range of Motion : Moving joints throughout the body from head to toe, usually led by Survivor Jerry.
