AMIS Middle School Honor Girls Choir Festival

In preparation for your child’s upcoming participation in the AMIS Girls Choir
Festival, please read this letter carefully.
1) Complete the attached Consent Form and AMIS Acceptance Agreement and
return to Christine in MS Office by December 5th.
2) Submit a copy of your child’s passport, KITAS and MERP (Multiple Re-entry
Permission) to Christine in MS Office by December 5th.
3) Find attached the letter you will need to secure your child’s China visa. Submit a
copy of this visa to Christine in the MS Office by January 21st. If you need

4) Passport with visa – Please turn in your child’s passport to Christine in MS
Office on Monday, January 26th.
AMIS Shekou TOTAL Trip Fees are $1000 USD.
$500 FINAL PAYMENT due to the Business Office by
Friday, December 12th.
Please submit payment to the MS AMIS fund – B015381.
The fee includes all AMIS festival fees, festival t-shirt, flights, meals, chaperone costs, and
transportation to and from the HK airport.

Upon arrival to Hong Kong, the group will take a ferry to Shekou.

Drop off/pick up times:
(A car pass will be available after break for access through the front gate.)
! We will leave from JIS on Wednesday, January 28. Students will need to arrive at school
with their luggage BEFORE 5:15AM.
! Pick up will be on Sunday, February 01 at the front entrance of JIS at 22:00 (Please arrive
PROMPTLY, it is very inconvenient for teachers to wait for late drivers after this long trip).

Packing List and Dress Code for the Festival
Remember that you are representing JIS at this festival. Be on your best behavior and dress
appropriately. The average temperature that time of year in Shekou is 11C – 3C so pack
warm clothes!

JIS REFUND INFORMATION
REFUNDS
1. Overnight field trips will require a NON REFUNADABLE deposit. The amount of this deposit
will vary based on the nature of the individual trip.
a. This deposit remains non refundable even in the case of cancellation due to security
concerns, student illness, family emergencies.
2. Refunds for airfare
a. If a trip is cancelled for any reason, either by JIS or by the parents, the school will contact
the airline involved and request a refund for the unused tickets. JIS will pass on whatever
refund is given by the airline to the student / family. No other refund for airfare will be
given
3. Refunds for Land tour costs
a. If a trip is cancelled for any reason, either by JIS or by the parents, the school will contact
the tour company involved and request a refund. JIS will pass on whatever refund is given
by the tour company to the student / family. No other refund for land tour costs will be
given
4. Refunds for Visas
a. If the student cancels the trip for any reason there will be no refund for the cost of the
students visa
b. If the school cancels the trip the school will refund the student the cost of the Visa upon
presentation of the receipt or copy of the visa.
5. Trip cancellation for disciplinary reasons
If a student is unable to travel due to disciplinary action imposed by the school, the school policies for
air and land cost refunds will be in effect. The school will reimburse the student for the costs of travel
visas.
