The Politics of Simple Solutions:
The Flawed Logic of a British Referendum on EU Membership"
Theme
This talk queries the assumption that a
membership referendum can resolve Britain’s
relationship with the EU. “Brexit” would be the
opposite of a simple solution to the Europe
question, while Eurosceptics will remain
dissatisfied in the event of a vote to stay in the
EU. Although a referendum seemingly offers a
simple and decisive solution, the reality is thus
rather different.
