Nowadays, the mathematics found in textbooks or other media were the results of numerous revisions and developments. One of the aims of learning mathematics is to enable people to be smarter when dealing with their daily life problems, especially those related to their work. Since ancient times, mathematicians have put in great efforts to study primes: the Goldbach conjecture and twin primes conjecture are therefore born. We shall give an exposition on the research results and stories. The talk will be conducted in Cantonese. This is a typical puzzle for kids, and the “model answer” is of course 16. To what extent is this model answer correct? In this talk, we will look at different patterns in mathematics, and discuss the role of patterns in the subject.
