Refunds
If camps are cancelled due to low enrollment, all participants shall receive a full refund. In the case of participant refund requests, a $5 cancellation
fee will be retained. All refunds will be processed in the same format that payment was received.

Participation in any Des Moines Public Schools summer sports camps is voluntary. At the discretion of District staff, participants may be removed
from a camp at any time for failing to follow District policies, rules, or procedures.

From collegiate and professional athletes to U.S. Olympians,
Des Moines Public Schools has a long history and tradition of
students competing at the highest levels in a variety of sports.
Whether you are a Scarlet, Huskie, Rail, Polar Bear or Roughrider,
our high schools provide many opportunities to participate,
compete and succeed.
DMPS is expanding opportunities for more and more students
to participate in a wide range of activities, including athletics.
To support that effort, we are also expanding our summer
sports camp offerings.
The listings in this brochure provide our summer sports camp
information for Lincoln High School, along with a registration form.
We hope you take advantage of these opportunities and are part of
the history and tradition of Des Moines Public Schools.
East/Lincoln/North Girls’ Golf
Clinic - RG900
Camp begins Mon, June 29 at DM Driving
Range and DM City Courses
Grades 6TH-8TH; 9:00-11:00 AM
Three days of instruction on all aspects
of the game of golf, including the short
game and putting, one morning on
actual course. Depending on number of
registrants, equipment may be available.
$20 Register by May 29
Lincoln Rails Girls’ Volleyball
Camp - RL923
Camp is July 27-July 31 at Lincoln High
Roundhouse - Camp ends July 31
Grades 9TH-12TH; 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
The focus of this camp is to prepare for the
upcoming volleyball season by developing
fundamental skills and competitive
gameplay. Please wear athletic clothing:
t-shirt, shorts/volleyball shorts, tennis
shoes. Participants should bring a water
bottle & sack lunch. Please wear athletic
clothing: T-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes.
Also bring a water bottle and lunch.

Lincoln Boys’ and Girls’ Cross
Country Running Camp - RL901
Camp begins Mon, June 8 at Lincoln
High Roundhouse Lot
Grades 6TH-12TH; 8:45-10:00 AM
Student-athletes will learn proper training
techniques that will enhance their running
performance. Among the activities of the
camp, coaches will review with athletes
proper stretching techniques, proper
running mechanics, and mileage training.
Each day campers will participate in a
training run designed for their own unique
ability level. Fee includes a camp t-shirt.
Students will meet in the parking lot
outside the Roundhouse. They should have
a good pair of running shoes, water bottle,
and a GREAT ATTITUDE!

Lincoln Rails Boys’ Basketball
Camp - RL935
Camp begins Mon, July 6 at Lincoln High
Roundhouse
Grades 4TH-6TH: 9:00-11:00 AM;
7TH & 8TH: 11:00AM-1:00 PM
Learn basketball skills and fundamentals;
dribbling, shooting, passing, defense,
transition and rebounding. Work on
offensive and defensive team concepts.
Understand the game and teamwork to
become a great individual and team player!
Players should wear gym shoes and athletic
gear (shorts/shirts).

Future Rails Girls’ Basketball

Grades 2ND-5TH: Noon-1:30 PM; 6TH-8TH:

Learn basketball fundamentals and skills:
dribbling, shooting, passing, defense,
rebounding, shooting and teamwork. Play
games, make friends and have fun! Wear
tennis shoes.
