Utilizing a highly engaging and recreational approach, Sibshops provide peer support for the typically developing siblings by offering a venue for such children to celebrate themselves and their families. Sibshops take a wellness approach by recognizing that most families of children with special needs are healthy and resilient, thus Sibshops are not group therapy but the results may be therapeutic. NEW SUITABLE FOR: Siblings of Children with Special Needs Ages 8-12 only Group Seminars for Parents/Clients SYNOPSES/COURSE DESCRIPTIONS RELATIONSHIPS: UNRAVELLING THE MYSTERY NEW SUITABLE FOR: Anyone struggling with relationship issues Age 18 and up Course Facilitator: Vic Unruh BA BRS, Cert. Ed., Pre-M.Ed. Pre-requisites: None Length: TBD We are all in relationships of one sort or another. Relationships bring pleasure and security, and, frustration and hurt. The deeper the relationship, the deeper we experience any or all of these qualities. When hurt and frustration begin to outbalance pleasure and security in a personal relationship this often leads to fear, feeling wounded and a loss in self-worth. And this has an effect on other relationships at work, in our families and community. Participants will unravel the mystery of relationships that no longer provide security, pleasure and joy in the same way can lead to a greater understanding of self and of others and, ultimately, healing.
