Each A Circuit Exhibitor will receive one complimentary ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased at the show office for $15. Box Seats Box seats are available for purchase at $125.00 per table. Tables consist of 8 person rounds, and will be supplied with free snacks nightly. Dinner and bar service is available at box tables. Please reserve your table, space is limited. Southeast Show Horse Association Medallion Details • Developed to promote the sport of showing and teamwork between horse and rider. • Rider must be a current member of SESHA. • Open to any age nonprofessional (class splits as needed 13 & under, 14-17 adult). • Riders will be judged on the rail both ways of the ring then lined up. Pattern A or Pattern B (chosen by judge) must be performed by each rider. • May ride a mare or gelding of any breed. Braiding is not required. • Judged using USEF Equitation rules with strong emphasis on overall horsemanship, seat and hands, guidance and control. Rail work is 50% and pattern is 50%. • SESHA Medallion Finals will be held at the end of the year if at least six qualified riders participate, otherwise an annual Highpoint rider will be named in each division. • Medallion Divisions include Saddleseat, Hunt Seat and Stock Seat. Patterns for each division can be downloaded at www.seshowhorse.org. • Exhibitors may show in work bridle with two reins (saddleseat) or full bridle. 4 2015 Summer Fun Horse Show 1. Stall bedding will not be provided. Feed and bedding are available daily on the grounds. No haul-in bulk shavings are allowed. 2. A stall is required for each horse. 3. The Grand Oaks charges $35.00 per day for each horse arriving prior to June 10, 2015 and for each horse staying beyond noon on June 14, 2015. 4. Prior arrangements must be made with the Grand Oaks for all horses arriving before June 13, 2013. Please call (352)750-5500 ext. 229. 5. RV Campsites are available at $45 per night, including tax, to be collected by The Grand Oaks Resort. Arrangements must be made by calling (352) 750-5500, ext. 231. 6. Negative Coggins (within the last 12 months) is required. 7. Dogs must be kept on a leash (no longer than 6’) held by a person, or tied at all times. This rule applies to all dogs! 8. All minors must be under the control and supervision of a parent or guardian who will be responsible for all injuries, damages, accidents, and disruptions caused by the minor. Serious and/or continuous incidents will result in expulsion from the Fair Grounds. No refunds will be made. 9. The Summer Fun Horse Show, UPHA Ch 16 Inc, and officials of the Grand Oaks Resort will not be responsible for any accident which may occur to any rider, driver, groom or attendant, animal or equipment at the show or for any loss or destruction of any property or damages to or by animals in exhibition at the show, grounds, or stabling area. 10. The Summer Fun Horse Show will not add classes other than those listed in this Prize List. Suggestions made in writing to any board member of the Summer Fun Horse Show will be considered for future shows. 11. The Show will be conducted in the spirit of the USEF Rules. 12. A protest must be in writing, signed and accompanied by a deposit of $100 (payable to the Summer Fun Horse Show). The protest must be received by a member of the Show Committee, the Show Chair, or the Show Secretary within 48 hours of the occurrence of the alleged violation. If the protest is upheld, the deposit shall be returned; if not upheld, the deposit shall be forfeited to the Summer Fun Horse Show. In case the protest is upheld, entries standing next in award will move up accordingly. 13. The gate of the show ring will be closed two minutes after the first horse enters the ring. Any exhibitor not in the ring by that time will not be admitted. 14. If for any reason a judge cannot officiate, the Committee reserves the right to substitute. 15. The age of a Junior Exhibitor on December 1 of the preceding year will be maintained throughout the entire following year. 16. The Horse Show Committee reserves the right to cancel any class where there are less than four entries and, may combine or divide any class or classes, should the best interest of the show require it. In case of cancellation, entry fee will be refunded. The Horse Show Committee or Show Chair will consider dividing classes when official entries exceed 12 in a class. 17. Exhibitors canceling entries in writing prior to the closing date of entries will be entitled to a full refund. Exhibitors canceling entries in writing after the closing date of May 21, 2015 but prior to June 10, 2015, will be entitled to a refund on all fees less $25.00 handling charge only if supported with a veterinarian certificate giving comprehensive diagnosis. NO STALL REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER THE CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES. 18. The Summer Fun Horse Show Committee reserves the right to: a. Vary or add to the names of those officials who have been invited to participate b. Decline/return any/all entries, return any monies paid for stalls/entry fees, before or during the show, without explanation or recourse to the show for liability or compensation. 5 2015 Summer Fun Horse Show 19. Exhibitors are hereby notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judge, horseshow staff, volunteers, or officials on part of the owner, rider, trainer, agent, or groom, will disqualify horse and/or rider and the owner shall forfeit their entry and all other fees. 20. Effective for the 2015 World’s Championship Horse Show, any class added to a show’s schedule after the prize list, class sheet or class schedule has been printed and/or posted on the show’s website, Facebook page, etc. is allowed to count as a qualifying class for the Kentucky State Fair’s World’s Championship Horse Show as long as notification is made at least 2 weeks in advance to KSF show management, ASHA, and exhibitors. Classes denoted as “buy a class” or “TBA”, are considered added classes and therefore will not be counted unless the prior notification process is followed. Classes that are added during the week a horse show is scheduled to be held do not count for qualifying. Once you have cantered in academy you cannot go back to walk and trot. Helmets are required for riders 17 and under due to new congressional bill passed in 2010. ACADEMY HORSES: Horses in academy classes MUST be a lesson horse regularly used in a professionally operated lesson program. The horses must display safety characteristics of such. Horses will be excused from the competition for unsafe behavior such as going too fast for a rider to handle. Horses are not to be judged, soundness is not to be considered. TURN OUT: Required is a plain shod horse, 1 therapeutic pad allowed. No braids or artificial appliances are to be used. Hoof blacking is optional. TACK: Horses may be shown in a snaffle bridle with a martingale or German martingale, pelham or full bridle. Saddles must be cutback English saddles. No tie downs or blinkers allowed. RIDER APPOINTMENTS: Saddleseat Jodhpurs, boots, button down shirt, tie, and gloves required. No derbies but helmets are encouraged. Whips and non-rowled spurs are optional. Long hair must be secured back in bun or braid. 2014 Summer Fun Horse Show 6 2015 Summer Fun Horse Show ACADEMY EQUITATION is judged on the rider’s basic equitation skills with correct diagonals and leads, proper use of ring is considered. ACADEMY SHOWMANSHIP is judged on the rider’s horsemanship abilities. It is judged on the rider’s ability to control and show their horse. Promptness in finding the correct leads are important as well as the rider’s command of the horse, for example, speed, collectiveness, and placement in the ring. Diagonals not to count. CLASS RULES: Headers allowed in if needed for safety, no towels or whips allowed in with them. Classes will be split at the 9th rider. Splits will be shuffled to keep equitation and showmanship back to back (i.e.: 1a, 2a, 1b, 2b) Class holds will be 2 minutes in length. NO EXCEPTIONS. Holds must be requested 10 minutes before the academy session begins. Gate times will be strictly enforced and as one class exits the next will promptly be called. PLEASE COME PREPARED FOR TIGHT SCHEDULE. NOVICE CLASSES: for each age division and for riders who have not received 3 blue ribbons in academy. *Horses may cross-enter between A-Circuit and Academy if they fall into the parameters of an Academy horse, i.e.: used regularly for lessons and plain shod. Please direct all questions to horse show manager or the UPHA Chapter 16 representative. Any unsafe behavior exhibited in the warm up area will also cause the horse/trainer to be excused from the competition. It’s a must see! 11 2015 Summer Fun Horse Show Class Specifications 1. Junior Exhibitors may show in any amateur class ONLY where there is no class within the division specifically for them. Junior Exhibitors that do not have a Stake in their division may show back in that Amateur Stake after having shown in the Junior Exhibitor qualifying class. 2. A Classic horse is not restricted to Classic classes only, but in Classic classes, must adhere to the rules specifying no pads, with only amateur rider/driver and amateur header. 3. Pads are not allowed in the 3-Gaited ASB Country Pleasure, Classic classes, or Western classes. 4. No qualifying is needed, you can enter a championship class without qualifying. 5. Therefore, Guest does hereby release, acquit and forever discharge The Grand Oaks Operating LLC, their parent, related affiliated and subsidiary companies or entities and the officers, directors, employees, trustees, volunteers, agents, representatives, successors and assigns of each from any and all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs, expense or compensation of any nature arising out of or in any way connected with Guest’s presence upon the Property or any activities engaged in or events conducted thereon. Guest understands that this Release includes any claims based on the negligence, action or inaction of any of the parties herein released and covers bodily injury and property damage suffered by Guest, Guest’s child or ward or any other person or property for which Guest has responsibility or authority before, during or after such participation. Guest further understands that this Release applies to any and all occurrences upon the Property including but not limited to equine activities. Guest further acknowledges and agrees that this Release is given in perpetuity and is intended to and does apply to Guest’s presence upon the Property at any time subsequent to the execution of this liability waiver. Guest further understands and agrees that all persons seeking the privilege of entering upon the property must execute this Liability Waiver and therefore does agree that Guest will notify The Grand Oaks Operating LLC. of any guest which Guest desires to bring upon the Property and will require such guest to sign a Liability Waiver. In consideration of this Agreement, Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the parties herein released of and from any and all claims for bodily injury or property damage that may be advanced against the parties herein released by any guest of Guest as a result of any occurrence whatsoever upon the property whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence or fault of any variety of the parties herein released. This document is meant to be a full and complete release from any and all liability that may arise on the properties of The Grand Oaks Operating LLC. This release is given freely and voluntarily by the guest and is meant to remain in existence throughout the duration of the equine and/or other activities whether I am or am not found to be negligent while handling or near a horse or participation in the above mentioned activities. Pictures, videos and press releases/articles are a wonderful way to publicize our events and programs, and our sport. STATE OF FLORIDA LAW REQUIRES: 1. ALL HORSES ENTERING FLORIDA, MUST PRESENT A HEALTH CERTIFICATE BOTH ENTERING AND EXITING THE STATE AT THE AGRICULTURAL STATIONS. 2. SMV (slow moving vehicle) SIGNS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL CARRIAGES THAT UTILIZE ALL PUBLIC ROADS. NATURAL HAZARDS ON THE FARM ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. DO NOT DRIVE OR RIDE YOUR HORSES IN THE LAKES. THE FOOTING AND DEPTH ARE NOT PREDICTABLE. 2. BEWARE OF FIRE ANTS. THESE ARE TINY, RED ANTS THAT STING BADLY. DO NOT STAND NEAR THEM OR HALT YOUR HORSE NEAR THEM. 3. GOPHER TURTLE HOLES ARE THROUGHOUT THE AREA. THEY BURROW LARGE TUNNELS UNDERGROUND THAT SOMETIMES COLLAPSE WHEN A HORSE STEPS NEAR THE OPENING. 4. POSSIBILITY OF ALLIGATORS IN LAKES AND PONDS. 19 ALSO, BY SIGNING THIS LIABILITY WAIVER, I ATTEST AND CERTIFY THAT I HAVE A CURRENT NEGATIVE COGGINS CERTIFICATE ON EACH EQUINE THAT I BRING ONTO THE PROPERTIES DESCRIBED IN THIS LIABILITY WAIVER.
