Check Writing Procedures
1. All checks need to be made out to “The Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia.”
2. Your organization’s name must be in the memo line.
3. For ease, make sure your organization’s name is as it appears on the leaderboard.
4. Checks need to be dated for either May 5th or May 6th.
5. Checks must be received by either Langley Federal Credit Union or the Peninsula Community
Foundation beginning at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 5th and 12 noon on Wednesday, May 6th. (A listing
of branch locations is attached)
6. Checks received before or after the Give Local 757 event will not be counted.
7. Please have each donor complete the Check Donation Form (attached and also located in the
Nonprofit Tool Kit). This will enable us to more efficiently enter their information into the system.
8. For the Obici “Check It Prize,” it is being determined by the NUMBER of checks, not the amount raised.
9. Donations via check will be factored into how much of the match pool each nonprofit will receive.
They will not be factored into the prize pool.
10. There will not be any fees taken out of the check donations.
