National Night Out is a community event that is designed to generate support
for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts. It is meant to strengthen
neighborhood spirit, police partnerships and the enjoyment of our hometown
feel. The event includes food and beverages, crafts, bounce house, give-aways, face painting, Jessie White Tumblers, Boom Box Juke Box Truck, Staley
from the Chicago Bears, Skates from the Chicago Wolves, free pool hours
(extended to 10 pm), firework display and more! Don’t miss out on the event

Hawaiian Splash Party & Duck Derby Race, All ages
Friday, August 8 at the NSC pool, starting at 6:30 pm
It’s that time of the year again, where the pool becomes a tropical island for
the night. There will be poolside games, swimming and even a cold treat! The
annual Duck Derby hosted by the Rolling Meadows Environmental Committee,
Rotary Club of Rolling Meadows and the Park District Foundation will begin at
7 pm by the slides. This event will lead directly into Flick & Float. This event will
be free to pool pass holders, regular admission is required.

Friday, August 15, 6-8 pm
Summer is coming to an end, so why not bring your friends and family to the
Plum Grove Park Pool and enjoy a night of swimming and DJ entertainment.

Welcome our new dance teacher!
Debbie Rochau has trained with Golden’s School of Dance,
Yeoman’s School of Dance, and The Northwest Ballet
Academy. She has taken master classes in Ballet, Jazz,
Modern, Tap, and Lyrical, as well as participated in the Baby
Dream Workshop. Debbie has been teaching for the last 16
years. She has taught at the Des Plaines School of Dance
and currently teaches at the Elk Grove Pavilion Dance
Centre, where she also choreographs for the Elk Grove
Connection Dance Company. She is excited to be teaching
for our Park District!

Recreational dance classes are offered in the fall before the recital session begins and in the summer after the recital session has ended. The classes are
designed to be an introduction into our dance program or a session for dance disciplines that interest the dancer and they would like the opportunity to try it
out before signing up for a full recital session.

Your child will be introduced to the wonderful world of dance through songs,
creative movement, games and exercises without the stress of being alone.

Auditions are the first day of class and role assignments are based on student audition.Theater students will be asked to help with simple props and

Acting Up, Ages 1st-3rd grade
An introduction to theater for our youngest actors in the primary grades! This
class cover all the elements of being in a full production: singing, dancing,
staging and lines. This session we will work on a musical especially geared to
the young performer, “Circus Circus!”
Synopsis: The Circus is in town and there’s excitement in the air! But wait, the
Ringmaster has come down with a case of laryngitis and they need to find
a substitute, fast! Join the clowns, jugglers, dancing bears, lions and a host
of other hilarious performers as they help one very sad clown smile again.
Students will be asked to provide simple costumes and props. Show run-time
is approximately 20 minutes. Our final presentation will be at Cutting Hall on
Wednesday, October 29 at 7 pm.
A completed rehearsal and show schedule and all other class requirements
will be distributed in class. All students enrolled in the class will be expected
to attend the special rehearsals.

Class Act is a youth theater program where young and aspiring actors will
work on developing their craft. In each class we will focus on acting, singing,
blocking, theater games and scene study from the original musical,
“Creature!!”. All of the work done in class will culminate in a final presentation
complete with costumes, sets and lights at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts
Center.
Synopsis: “Creature!! The Musical”, is a frightfully funny parody of 1950’s sci-fi
flicks with amazing, incredible, shrinking, colossal creatures causing comic
misadventures for a scientist who has no chemistry with the ladies. Love and
laughter explode in the lab as boy meets girl, boy loses girl and boy gets
creature! Can the army save the day or will love conquer all? There are many
fun, zany roles in this original musical along with memorable music by
George Gershwin, George M. Cohan and other great songwriters. It’s a
monster of a musical! Students will be asked to help provide simple props and

Palatine Children’s Chorus, Ages 4-18
Treble Choir
The Palatine Children’s Chorus begins its 28th season in September. Our
singers from throughout the northwest suburbs enjoy a variety of musical
experiences in the Sing with Me (ages 4-5), Do Re Mi (ages 6-7), Treble (8+),
Intermezzo, Concert, and Honors Choirs. The Chorus safely nurtures children’s
voices, introduces all age groups to a variety of music and offers each level
appropriate, safe vocal instruction and music education. Our traveling choirs
have performed all around the U.S. and overseas: at New York’s famed
Carnegie Hall, the renowned Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, in Niagara Falls,
Montreal, Quebec, Wales, England, Hawaii, Austria, Venice, San Francisco,
Madrid and Barcelona Spain, and most recently, New Orleans at the St. Louis
cathedral. They have also performed for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox,
Joffrey Ballet, at Lincoln Park Zoo and at the Illinois State Fair as well as at
many local Palatine-area venues. All our choirs will perform a fall concert in
October plus holiday concerts at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center on
December 10 and 13. (Tickets purchased online subject to a surcharge.) All
PCC choruses including Do Re Mi help the mayor light the Palatine Christmas
tree each year.

Children 4-7 may register online or in person for Sing with Me and Do Re Mi.
The chorus staff will meet with parents and children 8 and older interested in
learning about the PCC family on 2 Welcome Nights. They will place all
children who attend that night in the choir where they’ll be most comfortable
and successful. Then throughout the program, the directors determine when
a student moves to the next level. The Choruses rehearse on Monday (older
singers) starting Sept. 8 and Wednesday (younger singers) afternoons/

Tumbling (Co-ed)
This program specializes in floor and trampoline skills. Specifically designed
for the needs of cheerleaders and aspiring cheerleaders. The class features a
strong emphasis on tumbling and jumping skills. There are 2 levels of tumbling
classes offered; beginner (1) and intermediate (2). For safety reasons all
students new to the tumbling programs should enroll for the beginner level
unless the tumbler can perform a back handspring unassisted. Tumbling 1
skill goals include handstands, round offs and flip flops. Tumbling 2 skill goals
include back flips and layouts, layouts with twists, alternates and bounders.

Gymnastics Class Dress Attire
Students participate bare foot. No jewelry of any kind is allowed in the gym. Candy or gum is not allowed. Hair must be tied back and away from the face.
Girls- A leotard is recommended with or without fitted shorts or Capri pants.
Boys- A t-shirt or tank top with shorts without buttons, buckles or zippers.
Note: all t-shirts and tanks should be able to be tucked in if needed
Girls Gymnastic Teams
The Girl’s Gymnastic Team follows the 10 level Junior Olympic programs which are regulated by USA Gymnastics (AAU), our sport’s governing body. We
currently train athletes who compete USAG levels 4-9 and High School (IHSA). The team travels to competitions with other park districts and gymnastics clubs.
Pre-requisite for joining the team is successful completion of pre-team training and/or an evaluation by the team director. Team fees are charged on a monthly

High School Girls
This class is for girl’s grades 8-12 who compete on their high school gymnastics team. The gymnasts will be trained to maximize their personal potential to

Little Ninjas is designed for preschool and kindergarten kids, ages 4-6.
The curriculum is fun and will keep your child engaged with nonstop action.
Class concentrates on developing coordination, balance, focus, respect and
discipline of TKD training.
Kids TKD will affect your child in ways, providing benefits that will last a
lifetime. The program focuses on improving basic motor skills and challenging
the student by adding more traditional martial arts training and increasing the
level of intensity. The program consists of a balanced
cardiovascular workout, including punching, kicking and blocking skills while

Youth Basketball
This is a development league focusing on skill building and social interaction.
Boys and girls will learn rules, develop an understanding of the game and
build on fundamentals. They will work on individual skills, as well as game
situations and strategies. Good sportsmanship and fun will be the emphasis
of this league. All boys and girls will play at least one half of each game, and
players of all skill levels will benefit. Practice will be held once during the week
and games will be played on Saturdays. Players will be given uniforms the first
week of the season, (please specify jersey size on registration form). All
players must attend evaluations. Coaches will draft teams following
evaluations.
Jammers Basketball, 1st & 2nd grades
This 1st and 2nd grade basketball league for girls and boys will emphasize the
enjoyment of the sport, as well as teach the basic skills needed to participate.

Basketball Skills Clinics
Prepare your child for November player evaluations and winter league play
with these exciting and useful clinics. Clinics will be organized according to
grade levels. Players will enhance their basketball skills through challenging
drills and structured games.
Level I (Grades 1-2)
Boys and girls will work on the beginning skills of dribbling, passing, shooting,
and rebounding as well as learn the basic rules of the game. Participants will
also be introduced to the proper defensive stance and experience defensive
drills as they learn the game of basketball.
Level II (Grades 3-4)
This clinic will help girls and boys to enhance their current basketball
abilities, such as dribbling and shooting. Players will spend time on
learning the proper mechanics to further develop their jump shots, shots
off the glass, and lay-ups. Boys and girls will continue to learn more intricate
passes through offensive drills and scrimmages. Man-to-man defense also will
be practiced during this clinic.
Level III (Grades 5-7)
Players will enhance their knowledge of setting screens, proper movement
around the court, and other offensive points in this clinic. More difficult
shooting skills such as longer distance shooting, shooting off the dribble, and
shooting from a pass will be taught. Defense instruction will include denying
the ball, boxing out, and other skills important to more competitive play. Boys
and girls will have the opportunity to enhance their individual skills as well as
become effective team players.

This is a drop in open gym time to play basketball with friends.

Our Registration Process
The preschool year is September through May. Registration remains open as long as space is available. Registration is in person
and can only be done at the Community Center. To register a child for Preschool, Tot Time or Prekindergarten, parents need to
bring a birth certificate or passport. Proof of immunization is required at the start of class. All four year old pre-schoolers must
be four by September 1. Three year old pre-schoolers must be three on or before their start date. Pre-K must be five by March
4, 2015. All children need to be toilet trained. If there are any questions or to set up a tour, please contact the Early Childhood

Auto Withdrawal
We offer automatic withdrawal to enable parents to make smaller payments on a schedule by using a credit card and signing an
auto withdrawal form.
Tot Time, Ages 3-4
Tot time is a great choice for children just beginning a preschool
experience or for parents who need more flexibility in scheduling. Choose
from 1-3 mornings, M/W/F. In this class your child will be involved in a variety
of arts and crafts as well as gym and story time, providing opportunities for
free play and structured activities. Participants must be toilet trained.

This Monday through Friday class offers all the readiness activities needed for your older four year old child who is ready for
more challenges or for those who miss the September cutoff for kindergarten. Note: Children must be five by March 4, 2015 to

Rolling Meadows Golden Years Council has been providing service, support,
and fun activities to all active adults in the Northwest Suburban area for 30
years. The Rolling Meadows Park District is dedicated to the idea that leisure
is an important component of life. A large variety of programs and outings are
designed for but not limited to adults 50 years and better. Programs are
offered every month to give adults opportunities to enjoy leisure time,
promote social connections, stimulate the mind and experience fun.
Participants do not have to reside in Rolling Meadows, and adults of all ages
can participate. For outings and day trips, our busses are utilized unless
otherwise stated. Outings originate from the RM Community Center unless
otherwise specified.

We are a local club that meets Monday through Saturday, 9 am to noon. The
club is dedicated to increasing the enjoyment of woodworking. Woodworkers

Are you looking for a local quilt club? Our club was established in 1992 and
is a great way to make new friends and share your love of quilting. Our quilt

variety of individual, charity and challenge quilt projects. Join our group, all
you need is a needle and scissors, we have the thread and fabric!

the area. Fiber artists of all skill levels are invited for a cup of tea and friendly

Come tour the Robert R. McCormick house who was the president of the
Tribune Company and a Colonel during World War I. This is a guided narrative
tour of his 20th century mansion. The second tour is of the First Division
Museum that is a self-guided tour were you will be transported to the
trenches of World War I, the beaches of World War II, and the jungles of
Vietnam. View uniforms, awards, personal mementos, and artifacts of
weapons and vehicles. Outside the Museum is the tank park that features
100 years of armor. The third tour is of the Gardens of Cantigny Park. The
garden tour showcases the lifecycle of trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals in
stunning displays that perform well in a Midwest climate the tour will depend
on what is currently in bloom. Lunch is on your own at the restaurant of Le
Jardin. There will be stairs and walking to each building. Please wear walking
shoes. Some of trip will be located outside so please dress for the weather.

Octoberfest Luncheon
The Cotillion

Don’t miss this afternoon of good food and great fun! Lunch at The Cotillion
includes roast loin of pork, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, cream of vegetable

popular demand, our entertainment is The Johnny Wagner Band. This four
piece band entertains in full German attire. They play traditional Oktoberfest

The Museum is the former home of John C. Haines, a past mayor of Chicago,
Illinois. The Haines House was built about 1843, making it one of the oldest
surviving buildings in Lake County. It was enlarged to its present size in the
1870’s. The Museum portrays life of the late Victorian period in 1870’s. The rich
history of Waukegan is found throughout the Museum in the form of exhibits,
photographs, and artifacts. Highlights include a truck that young Jack Benny
used, the bed that Abraham Lincoln slept on while visiting the city and the
charred clock face from the second Lake Country Courthouse. There will be a
tour of the museum. Lunch will be on your own in a nearby restaurant.

Our Hockey Tot/Learn to Skate class will put beginner skaters on track to our
Hockey Program. All the same features of the RMPD Learn to Skate class with
a bit of hockey flare. First time skaters will learn: the proper way to fall,
marching while standing and moving, swizzles, push and glide and two foot
glide. Basic hockey activities such as playing with pucks and shooting will be
incorporated into the end of each class, when skaters are balanced and
confident enough to do so. No experience is needed. Skates, helmets
and sticks are available for use in class at the ice arena.

Beginner Pre-Mites is for players passing through the Hockey Tot class, Learn
to Skate Tots 2 class, Pre-Alpha class, or can skate the length of the ice with a
push and glide motion (not marching or walking motion). Class covers all the
basic skating techniques used in the game of hockey, along with an
introduction to puck-handling, passing and shooting, all in a fun and

Pre-Mite League (Must be enrolled in a Pre-Mite class to play in the Pre-Mite League) Pre-Mite League is your player’s first introduction to the game
of hockey. The league follows USA Hockey’s Initiation Program format of cross ice games. The ice is divided into smaller sections and each section has it’s own
game. This format allows the beginner skater to have more success while enjoying the first experience in a game setting. Scoring is not kept to decrease the
competitiveness of the games and keep the emphasis on learning and having fun. During games positions are not followed, allowing for a free flowing game

Join our Fall Over 40 League with C and H divisions! All games
will be played at the West Meadows, Nelson Sports Complex,
Hoffman Estates, Oakton, and Glenview Ice Arenas. The season
will consist of pre-season games, regular season games and
playoffs.
Adult Hockey League
The Rolling Meadows Park District offers several skill level
divisions to fit any players ability (A, B, C1, C2, C3, H1, H2, H3,
H4). The league is designed to provide participants with a fun,
competitive atmosphere. Registration is taken on a team or an
individual basis. Each team is guaranteed 20 games including
at least one playoff game. Days and times of games are on a
random schedule.

Frost Fest Individual Competition
More than two hundred competitive skaters from the Chicagoland area will gather at West Meadows Ice Arena on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 to compete in
our 17th annual Frost Fest competition. Children from the age of three (3) to adults will be competing in solo, compulsories, music interpretation and
synchronized skating. Chicago Jazz Synchronized Skating teams will also be doing exhibitions highlighting their competitive programs for the new year.

Learn to Skate
Learn to Skate at the Nelson Sports Complex
Our Learn-to-Skate program follows the guidelines set by the Ice Skating Institute of America. Classes for beginners through advanced skaters are offered. All instructors are
qualified professionals trained in I.S.I and US Figure Skating techniques. Skaters Alpha level and above are required to become a member of the Ice Skating Institute Skating Club.
For information or questions contact the Ice Arena Office, 847-818-3210 or find info at rmskating.com. All Learn to Skate classes-Beginners through Freeskate 1 are 30 minutes of
instruction with an additional 15 minutes practice time included. Freeskate 2 and above will receive a free punch card for half hour practices for the number of weeks they are in
class. (If the class session is 8 weeks long, they will get eight half hour practice sessions.) The punch card is to be used on our freestyle ice times and must be used within the
session. Additional practice time can be purchased. For normal advancement, skaters in Tots through Freeskate 1 should be skating at least twice per week. Skaters in Freeskate 2
and above should be skating at least three times per week. Multiple classes of the same level may be taken on different days. Arlington Heights & Palatine residents receive $5 off
the non-resident fee and Elk Grove residents receive resident rates for Learn to Skate classes.

With over 50 years of credible experience beneath our
blades, our professional staff of coaches can expertly
guide you through a complete progress, we will teach
you the technical intricacies of jumping and spinning.
Our mission is: “To provide a thorough skating

New sessions begin 6 times throughout the year:

Freestyle Practice Ice
In addition to the full schedule of group classes, the
Ice Arena also provides daily freestyle ice sessions for
practice and private lessons. This is the time when skaters can work individually on their jumps, spins and other
maneuvers, rehearse competitive programs or work with
their private coaches. These sessions typically begin at
6 am each weekday, ending some days at 6 pm. These
ice slots may be contracted at the beginning of a skating
season for a reduced rate, or may be paid for on a walkon basis if space is available.

C.A.R.E./NWSRA

C.A.R.E. Children’s Activity, Recreation and Enrichment, Registration begins in April
C.A.R.E. is a cooperative program between Community Consolidated School District 15, Palatine Park
District and Rolling Meadows Park District. C.A.R.E. is a before and after school program for children
of working parents. We offer a variety of activities including: arts, crafts, snacks, gym activities,
outdoor play, active and quiet games, computer use, as well as time to do homework and read.
The program is for children in kindergarten through age 12. The before school portion of the
program runs from 7am until school starts and after school runs until 6pm. A full day program is
offered on Institute days and most school holidays for a separate fee. Full day programs may be at a
different site than the home site.

NWSRA
Northwest Special Recreation Association
NWSRA Exists to provide outstanding opportunities through recreation for children and adults with disabilities.
The Rolling Meadows Park District is proud to be a member of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). Throughout the northwest suburbs, NWSRA
is the leader in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA’s team of full-time Therapeutic Recreation
Professionals and trained part-time staff offer a multitude of year-round program offerings including sports, camping, social programs and more. Increased self
esteem, physical and social skills development, making friends and having fun are just a few of the benefits of participating in NWSRA programs. Camps, trips,
and special events are also available at various times throughout the year.
Inclusion assistance is provided by NWSRA to those individuals who wish to participate in their home park district program. When registering, the parent of
an individual with a disability should inform the park district (and NWSRA, if desired) of any accommodation needed in order for the individual to successfully
participate in the program. The park district staff will then contact NWSRA for assistance with the
accommodation.
NWSRA is hiring leaders for positions of inclusion as well as NWSRA programs. If you have an interest in working with individuals with disabilities, contact

Special Leisure Services Foundation, the fundraising arm of NWSRA, partners with public and private corporations, foundations and individuals to support

AYSO- Soccer Affiliate, Ages 4-19 yrs.
The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is a U.S. non-profit soccer
organization for children aged 4 through 19. AYSO has been in Rolling
Meadows for 35 years. AYSO believes strongly in six basic philosophies:
Everyone plays. Each child on a team is required to play at least one-half of
each game. Balanced teams. AYSO believes that children enjoy playing more,
and learn more from the game, when teams are as closely matched as
possible. Open registration. Any child who wishes to play may do so,
regardless of ability. Positive coaching. AYSO holds that children develop best
when they are given encouragement, rather than being “put down.” AYSO
expects coaching to be positive, instructional and encouraging at all times.
Good sportsmanship. AYSO tries to instill good sportsmanship in all of its programs. Player Development. The goal of Player Development is to
embrace the objective of improving the soccer skills and knowledge of every
AYSO player. Spring Season runs late April to early June. Fall season runs late
August to late October.

Disc Golf
North Salk Park, 3160 Owl Drive
Disc golf is a game in which individual
players throw a flying disc at a target.
According to the Professional Disc Golf
Association, “The object of the game is to
traverse a course from beginning to end in
the fewest number of throws of the disc.”
Disc Golf provides low impact
aerobic exercise which is geared to all
ages. The first hole is by the parking lot
at North Salk Park and players continue
toward the Nelson Sports Complex across
the creek to the sled hill, up along the bike
path to the Library and back across the
creek. Disc Golf tee boxes and targets are
identified just like a golf course.

Friends of the Parks
There are many ways you can be a friend to your favorite park, park
program or service. The Rolling Meadows Parks Foundation is
recruiting new members. Park District residents of all ages are who
are committed to expanding recreational, cultural and environmental
opportunities for the community are welcome to participate. The Parks
Foundation has three signature fundraisers each year, the Duck Race,
Glow Ball Golf Outing and a Trivia Night. Foundation members help to
organize, secure sponsors and prizes as well as, run these events.
Becoming a member requires attending six meetings per year in
addition to the events. Join the Parks Foundation and help protect and
promote our city’s green spaces, be a part of a dedicated team that
keeps our parks beautiful and provides opportunities for program

RMPDF Mission
The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all
residents in the Rolling Meadows Park District by securing donations
for park, facility and program development and maintenance.
Contributions can carry your direction as to their use, or can be used
where the need is greatest.

The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree provides the opportunity to recognize a milestone,
honor a memory, commemorate a special event or family member.
The giving tree at the Community Center is a great way to celebrate the
people in your life. Recognition is given three ways: buy a Leaf for
$50-$100, Acorn $101-$500 or Boulder $501 and over. Be a part of the
parks and recreation community you love by making a donation to
support the Giving Tree.
The Rolling Meadows Park District Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit charitable foundation.
The board members of the Rolling Meadows Parks Foundation and staff liaisons are seeking individuals interested in serving
on the Board. This charitable organization assists in raising funds to support a variety of programs, services, and projects that
enhance the recreational opportunities for our residents.

Park District Youth Program - License Plates
In an effort to help support Illinois Park Districts and other recreation agencies
that provide after-school programming for young people, the office of Jesse
White, Secretary of State offers Park District Youth License Plates. Proceeds
from the sale of these plates go to park districts and other agencies to provide
innovative, quality after-school programming for area youth. Brochures

Receipts
Waiver Forms Required
Unless a receipt is requested at the time of drop-off registration, your receipt
will be e-mailed if you have given a valid email address.
Refunds
The Rolling Meadows Park District reserves the right to cancel, postpone or
combine classes or change instructors. A full refund will be issued for any
program cancelled by the Park District. If the class has begun, a pro-rated
amount will be determined based on the date of refund application for
injury, moving, schedule changes and satisfaction issues. A doctor’s note must
accompany the refund request for injuries. Requests will be honored until the
last class date of the session. Certain restrictions apply to camp, pool,
skating or fitness passes, sports leagues, tickets to entertainment/sports
events, birthday parties, ice skating programs, room rentals and contracted
programs. Refunds for trips and contractual programs will only be issued
if the spot can be filled from the waiting list. Refunds will not be issued for
classes that participants are unable to attend. Refund requests can be made
by phone or in person. Fees paid by credit cards will be refunded through
charge account credits. Refund check processing takes 10-15 business days.
Minimum & Maximum
All programs have a minimum and maximum registration requirement. Please
register early. If you do not get into the class you have selected, we will put
your name on a waiting list and let you know if a new class will be created or a
spot opens up.
ADA Compliance
Rolling Meadows Park District complies with the Americans with Disabilities
Act, legislation which prohibits discrimination on the basis of a disability.
Under the ADA, the Park District makes reasonable accommodations in
recreation programs to enable participation by an individual with a disability
who meets essential eligibility requirements for that leisure program and
facilities. The ADA, which took effect in 1992, requires that recreation
programs offered by the Park District be available in the most integrated
setting appropriate for each individual.
Insurance Disclaimer
The Rolling Meadows Park District does not carry premises medical payments
insurance coverage. The Park District is a local public entity and is subject to
the Illinois Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act
that provides certain immunities and defenses to claims for damages made
against local public entities. Without these statutory immunities, fees
associated with recreational activities, programs, properties and/or facilities
could well be prohibitive.
For insurance purposes, your signature is required on the waiver portion of all
registrations. Please read the waiver in full before signing. Registrations
cannot be processed without the waiver portion signed. Additional waiver
may be required for high risk programs.
Catalog Information
This catalog is prepared months in advance of its delivery. Sometimes there
are errors or program changes by the time the catalog is published. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and when errors do occur,
our staff will advise you of the change as quickly as possible. The most current
catalog copy, with updates, will always be posted on our website,
rmparks.org. (bottom left corner).
Residents & Non-Residents
The Rolling Meadows Park District is a separate, tax supported agency apart
from the City of Rolling Meadows. This means that you may have a City of
Rolling Meadows address but do not pay taxes to the Rolling Meadows Park
District. Therefore, all participants that are non-taxpaying residents of the
park district are required to pay an additional fee depending on the program.
Non-Residents are welcome to join any Rolling Meadows Park District
program. A quick way to determine your park district resident status is to look
at your tax bill; the park district that you pay taxes to will be listed.
Community Agreements
We are fortunate to have intergovernmental agreements with School
District 15 and 214 and St. Colette for usage of their indoor and outdoor
spaces.

We are fortunate to have many volunteers that help at our Senior Center and
at programs/events throughout the year. A special thanks to everyone who
vounteers at the Park District.
Reciprocal Agreements
The Rolling Meadows Park District enjoys a great working relationship with
many of our surrounding park districts. We encourage our residents to take
advantage of these different facilities and programs at an in-district rate. See
page 35 for more information.
Illinois Distinguished Agency
The Rolling Meadows Park District has been a Distinguished Accredited
Agency since 1996. Accreditation is a voluntary program that uses a set of
standards to evaluate and identify agencies throughout the state that provide
exceptional Park and Recreation services to their community to improve their
quality of life.
Weather Cancellations
Local school closings/cancellations due to weather do not always affect the
cancellation of Park District programs. Our Early Childhood programming will
follow District 15 closing procedures for inclement weather. Youth
basketball practices that take place at our local schools generally are
canceled if District 15 is closed. For specific program and event cancellations,
visit rmparks.org or call the facility in which your program takes place.

Board Meeting Information
As a separate Municipal Governing Agency, the Rolling Meadows Park District’s
purpose is to provide parks, facilities and recreation programs for the children
and adults of the community. The Park District’s policies for operation are
governed by 7 elected Commissioners. Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at Park Central, 3000 Central Road. Copies

per year. An additional 2,000 copies of this informational program are
placed at our facilities providing residents and non residents with

Attention Parents/Guardians
Listed below are several safety guidelines the Park District encourages
parents/guardians to follow when dropping their child(ren) off at a Park
District program.
• Please escort children to and from the building, pool, field etc.
• Please take child directly into class or activity area.
• Please try to stay with child until the instructor arrives/begins the class.
On occasion an instructor may encounter an emergency or an unexpected
situation which causes them to be late or miss a class. If this occurs, the
instructor notifies the program supervisor as quickly as possible and the
supervisor addresses the situation as quickly as possible.

Transportation
We offer a variety of programs that are not held at a Rolling Meadows
Park District facility. Under each description in this brochure, it states as to
where the program/event is held. Transportation for these programs is not
provided, unless specified.
Recycling
You may not see recycle containers in our facilities and parks, but please
know that the waste management service we contract separates the
recyclable material from the solid waste at their state-of-the art facility.
For Your Safety...
The entrance/driveway into the Community Center is a “No Cell Phone
Zone” while operating a motor vehicle. Many young children are dropped
off at our preschool or use the playground near the entrance.

Kimball Hill Pond Information
With the cold weather coming, we are encouraging parents to talk to their
children about the dangers of walking on or playing around any frozen bodies
of water. In particular, please advise them to beware of the pond located in
Kimball Hill Park. The Rolling Meadows Park District staff will monitor the
thickness of the ice and a RED flag and RED barrels will be placed at the pond
when conditions are unsafe. When the thickness is safe for skating the barrels
will be removed and a YELLOW flag will be raised to indicate that the pond is
safe for skating. However, caution should always be used when on frozen
bodies of water. Be advised that ice fishing is not permitted at Kimball Hill
Pond.
Sled Hill Information
The lighted sled hill in North Salk Park will be open provided that there is at
least 3 inches of snow and the wind chill is not colder that -20 degrees. A RED
flag will indicate that the sled hill is closed. A YELLOW flag will indicate that the
sled hill is open but unsupervised and caution should be exercised.
