PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE A $20 REGISTRATION FEE FOR
ALL APPLICANTS
All auditioners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for registration at the
open auditions. Competitors must also present at least one form of identiﬁcation proving their age. All
contestants should come to auditions, call backs and ﬁnale performance ‘dressed to impress’ - no shorts,
tank tops or bare midriﬀs.
OPEN CALL AUDITIONS - Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12
Each contestant will sing a capella (no music) for at least one minute but no more than three minutes
before a panel of judges. Each applicant will be notiﬁed by email within 48 hours if chosen to move on to
the Call Backs.
CALL BACKS -- Thursday, May 28
Call backs take place at The Downtown Cabaret Theatre, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Call Back contestants will
be notiﬁed by email and phone, and will be given a time slot for their Call Back audition.
At the Call Back audition, contestants will be required to sing a song of their choice to music that is no
longer than 3 ½ minutes long. The music MUST be a karaoke version (instrumental background track)
ABSOLUTELY NO a cappella SINGING WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE CALL BACK AUDITIONS.
All Call Back contestants will be required to email their music to Lou Zayas at [email protected],
NO LATER THAN 5 p.m. on FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2015. See Directions on how to send music.
Call Backs are open to the general public to view at no charge.
FINALE - Saturday, June 13
The Finale will be held at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre before a panel of judges and a live theatre
audience. Tickets for the show are $15. Finalists will be notiﬁed by email and phone within 48 hours after
the Call Backs. The ﬁnalists will be required to again send in a music selection of a background track
song of their choosing to: [email protected] by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015. It may, but does
not have to be the same song as contestant sang at the Call Backs. It may be any genre of music and
should not exceed ﬁve minutes in length. All decisions by the judges are ﬁnal. Please be advised that the
Barnum Festival LLC is a nonproﬁt organization. By participating in the competition you will be performing
at public events and must acknowledge that there may be photos and video taken of you and your family
members. These images may be used for marketing or publicity purposes by the Barnum Festival.

Sending your music
for Call Back Auditions on

The submitted music MUST be an iTunes purchased instrumental /karaoke track. There will be no CDs
used, and ABSOLUTELY NO YOU TUBE LINKS ALLOWED. No live accompaniment or a cappella singing at
the CALL BACK audition.
Most songs purchased from iTunes cost $.99 to $1.29 and are the responsibility of the contestant.
The song does not have to be the same song sung at the open call audition. It cannot be more than 3 ½
minutes long.
Instructions:
1. Start by opening your iTunes account on your computer or device and click on the iTunes store located at
the top of the page.
2. Type in the name of the song you wish to sing plus the word “karaoke”.
Example: type in – Bruno Mars Uptown Funk karaoke
3. Several options may appear. Listen to the diﬀerent samples available before making the ﬁnal selection.
4. Once you ﬁnd the version you want, click on it and hit purchase. A message will appear asking for your
iTunes account password. Once this is typed in, the song will begin to download and will be saved in your
iTunes library. Note: The song can also be dragged from the music library and saved to your desktop.
5. Open your email account and prepare to send an email to Lou Zayas at [email protected]. Include
the name of the contestant, the name of the song, and the age category you are auditioning in.
6. Hit the attach icon. Go into your iTunes library (or to the desktop) and click on the song you just purchased
and attach the ﬁle. Review your information to make sure everything is correct. Then send the email to Lou
Zayas at [email protected] by Friday, May 22. Lou can be reached by email or at 203-275-8564 with
