9:00 am – 4:30 pm
for 4-H members, parents, leaders and families.
It is a full day of 4-H workshops,
practical sessions, learning and fun!
Registration fee is $5.00 each for the day.
The registration fee includes continental breakfast,
sessions, lunch and refreshments.
Please think environmentally and bring
along your own mug for refreshment breaks.
Auction! – each family please bring a silent auction item, proceeds go to
4-H programs for you!
Door prizes will be drawn at lunch and at the end of the day!

Session descriptions indicate the age group the session will be presented for,
parents and leaders may choose any session.
10:00 – 11:00 am
Session 1 – Choose One:
1. Clay Pot Planters – Junior / Senior
Try your green thumb. A hands-on activity in creating a Spring planter for a table centerpiece or front door
welcome. (25 participants max)
2. Proudly Presenting Agriculture – Junior / Senior
Information and messages to educate people about agriculture and your 4-H project when at fairs or public
shows as well as through social media.
3. Reducing the Risk of Back Country Travel – A Search and Rescue Perspective – Junior / Senior
Prepare for safety in the back country – how to plan your trip/hike/outing, what to take with you, what to do if
you get lost.
4. Marketing Your 4-H Beef Project– Junior / Senior
It’s all about price, product, promotion, place and public relation; learn to raise your project as a product to sell.
5. 4-H Educational Displays – Junior / Senior
Learn about Educational Display construction and design to get your message across and impress the judges!
6. Energy Work with Animals – Junior / Senior
This is a basic look at connecting with your pet or project in a hands on way to help you to increase your trust
and develop skills to relieve minor strains that may occur during activities and or daily running around.(15 max)
7. Keeping Your Animal Project Healthy – Junior / Senior
A session on good husbandry, signs of illness, animal first aid kit, and how to know when to call the vet!
8. Cloverbud Activities
Kids under age 9 should register for this all day session full of fun and activities. 6-8 year olds can attend
unsupervised, kids under 6 must accompanied by an adult.

Session 2 – Choose One:
1. Halter Making – Junior / Senior
A hands on activity in 4-H beef and dairy halter making. (maximum 12 participants in this class)
2. Proudly Presenting Agriculture – Junior / Senior
Information and messages to educate people about agriculture and your 4-H project when at fairs or public

3. Livestock 4-H Judging – Junior / Senior
Come build some judging skills in this session. Learn how to compare and contrast 4 animals and focus on
important livestock terms.
4. Photography – Junior / Senior
Explore the 4-H photography project and what you can learn about your camera. This session is for
photography members or anyone interested.
5. 4-H Thank You Cards – Junior / Senior
This is a make and take card session that focuses on creative thank you cards with thoughtful messages that
make a difference. (15 participants max)
6. Using the Judging Hormel and Setting up a Judging Class – Senior / Adult
Learn how to prepare a 4-H livestock or non-livestock class that will challenge 4-H members to use their critical
thinking skills. An added lesson on the 4-H Hormel will help you to know how to score 4-H judging cards.
7. Safety and Animal Handling – Junior / Senior
Safe and low stress animal handling is best for the handler and the animal, learn some skills and techniques.
8. Cloverbud Activities
More activities for Cloverbuds, different than the first session!
9. Running a 4-H Meeting and the Club Executive – Junior / Senior
This session will focus on information about 4-H Club executive positions. Learn the important tasks involved in
each of these positions and how to prepare to run a meeting.
10. Boot Planters – Junior / Senior
Try your green thumb. Bring an old boot to create a Spring planter for a front door welcome. (25 max)

Session 3 – Choose One:
1. Halter Making – Junior / Senior

2. 4-H Leader Session – 4-H Club Management (Part A – 2 sessions) – 4-H Leader
This session will focus on everything to do with the leaders’ role in organizing the club. Topics will include: club
year plan / meeting agendas / meeting management / teaching techniques / understanding youth
3. 4-H Awards – Senior / Leader / Adult
Learn about opportunities to earn badges, senior skill certificates, and 4-H high school credits. Requirements
will be discussed regarding program, project and honour pins and how a 4-H member can achieve these goals.
4. Poultry Health and Care – Junior / Senior
For poultry project members, poultry project tips to care for your back yard flock. Bring your questions!
5. Rabbit Project – Junior / Senior
Past 4-H member is coming back to share his expertise. All you need to know about the 4-H rabbit project.
Have your questions ready.
6. Horse Project – Junior / Senior
For horse project members, 4-H Horse project leader and vet teaches about horse care.
7. 4-H Thank You Cards – Junior / Senior
This is a make and take card session that focuses on creative thank you cards with thoughtful messages that
make a difference. (15 participants max)

More activities for Cloverbuds different than session 1, 2 and 4.
9. Farm and Tractor Safety – Junior / Senior
Keep it safe around the farm and on the tractor, important tips, lessons and info to share with the club.

Session 4 – Choose One:
1. Record Book Front Page with Pizzaz (15 participants max)
Use creative techniques to spice up your binder cover or title page of your record book. Show off your project
with pizzaz! (15 participants max)
2. 4-H Leader Session – 4-H Club Management (Part B – 2 sessions) – 4-H Leader
Continued from Session 3
3. Sheep Project – Junior / Senior
For sheep project members, sheep project tips to care for and show a happy and healthy animal.
4. 4-H Demonstrations and Speak and Show – Junior / Senior / Adult
Learn how to prepare and present attention-getting Demonstrations and Speak and Show presentations. Get
information about topic ideas, presentation skills and stage set-up.
5. 4-H Judging Basics – Junior
Learn the basics about the 4-H judging card and how to compare 4 items or animals.
6. Jewelry Making– Junior / Senior
Try your hand in jewelry making with instruction from an experienced 4-Her. Supplies will be provided to make
earrings for the girls and key chains / zipper pulls for the guys. (10 participants max)
7. 4-H Promotion At Your Stall or Display
Let’s promote 4-H in a bright and welcoming way. Learn how to create a display that will do just that!
8. Cloverbud Activities
More activities for Cloverbuds different than session 1, 2 and 3.

Registration fee is $5.00 per person for the full day, and must accompany the registration form. Deadline March 20, 2015
