BCHCC 2015 CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL PARADE RULES AND REQUIREMENT PARADE DATE: Saturday, May 2,2015, 11:00 SHARP! All entries need to be set up by 10:00 am. Entries may begin lining up at 9:00 am on May 2,2015. DEADLINE: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE COMPLETED, SUBMITTED AND PAID IN FULL BY APRIL 24th, 2015 @ 5:00 p.m. Entries are accepted on a first come/first served basis. In he event the number of floats exceeds the amount of space needed for the parade line-up, we will declare the parade “FULL” and accept no additional entries. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PARADE STAGING AREA: Freeport Museum, 311 East Park Ave, Freeport, TX. To help ensure the safety of our parade participants, personal vehicles WILL NOT be allowed in the staging area FOR ANY REASON. All decorations, signage, generators, etc. must be on entry when it enters the staging area or it will need to be walked in. NO EXTRA VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED IN, NO EXCEPTIONS! PARTICIPATION: No entry will be accepted into the Cinco de Mayo Festival without a fully completed application approved by the parade Committee. All applications will be accepted otherwise notified by the Parade Committee. DISTRIBUTION OF FLYERS, PAMPHLETS, CANDY, ETC. WILL BE ALLOWED! MUSIC: NO PROFANE, VIOLENT OR SUGGESTIVE MUSIC is allowed to be played from any float or tow vehicle. Violators will be removed from the parade route immediately. PARADE CATEGORIES AND FEE: All parade entries will be required to pay a $25 entry fee per float. Categories are as follow: Commercial entry or Non-Profit entry. This fee is for (1) float and/or walkers. There will be a additional $25 charge for each additional float/truck/trailer/etc. E : The dimension of an entry shall be no longer then 75 ft. in length x 12 ft. in height x 12 ft. in wide. All entries must be flame retardant either by the material used in construction, or by use of a spray-on retardant. Each entry must carry a fire extinguisher within the reach of the driver and it must be TYPE 2A: 10BC 5 lb. “ALL PURPOSE”. All entries with tow vehicles shall have a licensed driver. No one is permitted to leave the entry or tow vehicle to demonstrate or slow the forward movement of the parade in any way. Entries must stay in the parade line-up until completion of the entire route. No alcohol will be allowed on the entry or in the tow vehicle. Personnel on the entry or in the tow vehicle who appear to be under the influence of alcohol will forfeit participation in the parade. BANDS AND MARCHING UNITS: The Parade Committee recommends that identification banner be carried in the front of the group. ALL HORSE UNITS WILL BE FORMED IN A SEPARATE AREA AWAY FROM THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS: Horses termed unmanageable by the Parade Committee will not be allowed to participate. Riders must be 12 years old or older. Horses will not be left unattended at any time.
