Security Vulnerability Reduction: Level 1 Mitigation Strategies Date: Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 8AM – 4PM Cost: $225.00 per person (plus applicable taxes) Location: Lexxon Training at #1650 – 13401 108th Avenue, Surrey, BC RSVP: [email protected] or 604 495 8201 ext. 5001 Overview Vulnerability is not constant. It is variable and can be dependent, independent, or time dependent. The identification of vulnerability is critical to the larger security program at your organization’s business. Effectively identifying, classifying and implementing a vulnerability reduction program isn’t easy, especially in the potential absence of supportable security incident data, credible intelligence or peer experience. The ability to work effectively on a day-to-day basis with the concepts of threat, risk and impact will significantly assist in the determination of vulnerability and how it can be effectively reduced. Objectives: –– Clarification of the elements of vulnerability –– The interaction of resilience and vulnerability –– Leading practice with respect to classifying vulnerability –– Effects of threat, risk and impact on vulnerability –– Threat identification – known and reasonably foreseeable –– Vulnerable asset criticality What Participants Will Learn This one-day program will address the concepts of threat, risk, and impact and how they specifically relate to vulnerability. It will identify how these elements can be qualified and quantified and what role they individually play with respect to the concept of vulnerability. Regardless of whether vulnerability is considered people, process or technology-based, it needs to be defined in conjunction with the nature of the potential adversaries and to what extent they will need to be equipped to successfully exercise those types of vulnerabilities. This program draws on the experience of The Banks Group Inc., their work in the ASIS International Physical Security Council and recognized leading practices within the security environment. By the end of this one day program attendees will have a template to assist them in their organization’s vulnerability reduction efforts. 855 215 5527 www.lexxon.ca Speaker Phillip Banks, P.
