MONTLAKE COMMUNITY CENTER - SUMMER CAMPS 2014. THIS YEAR, WE’RE

FABULOUS SUMMER PACKED FULL WITH 19 DIFFERENT EXCITING CAMPS!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
» Licensed Summer Day Camp: For
campers ages 5-12 years (Five-year-olds
must be enrolled in Kindergarten in
September). Five-year-olds not enrolled
in Kindergarten can sign up for our PreCamp serving ages 3-5 years.
» Lunch: Campers attend both am and
pm sessions will have a lunch hour
between 12:30-1:30 pm. All campers
must bring their own lunch. No
lunches or snacks are provided. You
may want to provide your camper with
a few snacks to nibble on throughout
the day.
» Clothing: Montlake summer camps
are very active and engaging. Campers
should be dressed appropriately for
the weather and for lots of physical
activities. Cleats are not allowed inside
the community center but are allowed
for outside sports.
» No programs on July 4 in observance
of Independence Day.
PAYMENT & REGISTRATION FEES
» At the time of registration, a $15 nonrefundable deposit is due for each
camp registration.
» Balances are due TWO weeks prior to
the week your child is attending.
» $20 fee will be charged for all returned
checks.
» Additional payments may be made in
person over the telephone or via mail. All
checks should be written to: City of Seattle.
» Late payments are discouraged, and
may result in your child losing his or
her reserved spot.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUESTS
» Scholarship requests should be made
prior to registration.
» Day Camp Scholarships: If you
receive assistance by DSHS, please
contact your caseworker. For all
other scholarships, please pick up
application at front desk at Montlake
Community Center.

SUMMER CAMP REFUND POLICY
» No refunds will be made for requests
received within fourteen (14) days prior
to the beginning of the camp, unless
the space in the camp is filled.
» A service charge of 10% of the fee will
be retained by the facility.
» No refunds will be made on payments
provided as deposits for camps.

PRE-CAMP
$119 PER SESSION / $80 (7/1-7/5) 9 AM - 12:30 PM
Specially designed camp for young campers ages 3 to 5. All participants must be
potty trained. Every week has an exciting theme with amazing events and adventures
planned. With each week’s theme, children will take part in hands-on projects, play
games and listen to stories.

LICENSED SUMMER DAY CAMP
$175 PER SESSION / $140 (7/1-7/5) 7 AM - 6 PM | $10/SIBLING DISCOUNT
Montlake Summer Day Camps are a great opportunity for your children to have fun
while exploring our community, meeting friends, and learning new things! Running
from 7 am-6 pm weekdays, our camps feature a different theme each week. Campers
will explore different topics through arts, games, visits to the library, pool, and local
parks, as well as at least one field trip each week.
EXPRESS YOURSELF - SUMMER BAND CAMP (AGES 10-18)

Musicians in this six week music program have an exciting opportunity to
play in a band. Participants will receive intensive coaching and mentoring
from professional musicians. All instruments are welcome.
EXTENDED CARE

ALL SPORTS $99/SESSION
Children enjoy a wide variety of exciting
alternative sports including Frisbee,
Capture The Flag, Soak’em and kickball.
THE OLYMPICS $99/SESSION
Close out the summer with some fun
and competitive individual and team
competitions. Every camper will taste success!
BASEBALL $99/SESSION
Play ball! Learn to play all positions;
pitching, base running, hitting and more.
BASKETBALL $99/SESSION
All skill levels welcome for a fun summer
of basketball. Build skills in preparation for
another basketball season in Winter of 2014.
FLAG FOOTBALL $99/SESSION
Hut, Hut, Hike. Learn offensive and
defensive strategies.
NATURE CAMP $105/SESSION
Explore the outdoors!
SOCCER $99/SESSION
Build skills on the field, scrimmage with
peers and play teambuilding games.
TENNIS $109/SESSION
All skill levels welcome. Bring your own
racket if you have one!
VOLLEYBALL $99/SESSION
Bump. Set. Spike. It’s time for some
volleyball! Learn how to serve, volley, dig
and even spike!
ULTIMATE FRISBEE
$99/SESSION
A fantastic sport that is fun to learn and
easy to play. Learn how to throw, catch
and play Frisbee.
CLAY CAMP $140/SESSION
Learn to use the wheel or create clay
sculptures. Finally enjoy painting your
creation with beautiful glazes.
GEO CACHING $115/SESSION
If you enjoy outdoor adventures and
utilizing maps, this camp is for you! Work
in a team setting, learn about coordinates,
GPS systems and compassing.
CHEER $99/SESSION
Cheerleading camp is a time to learn,
bond and have fun. Learn some chants,
kicks and stunts.
LACROSSE $99/SESSION
Learn the basic skills of the sport in a fun
environment. Protective eye wear for the
camp is recommended.
SCIENCE CAMP $115/SESSION
Conduct fun experiments. Learn the basics
of physics. Science is fun and for everyone!
CHESS AND GAME CAMP
$99/SESSION
Chess Students love the opportunity to
play with their friends have chess-related
activities and get top notch instruction
from highly qualified chess teachers.
THEATER CAMP $115/SESSION
Yes, this is thespianism in the park. “To act or
not to act? That is this summer’s question” .

On-line and in-person registration starts
2/4. On-line registration will close two
weeks prior to the start date of each
camp. In-person registration will be
open throughout the entire summer.
To register Online, go to www.seattle.
gov/parks/centers/montlakecc.htm
and look for the summer brochure. You
must have a SPARC account to register.
Montlake staff can help get a SPARC
account. Open up the Summer Camp
brochure and click on the camp barcode
you wish to register for.
Completed E-13 Authorization Forms
and any additional medical forms must
be turned in to Montlake CC a minimum
of two weeks prior to camp attendance.
Registered participants who have not
turned in all necessary authorization and
medical forms risk being withdrawn from
camps and all applicable withdraw fees
will apply
