Registering for school on time helps every child, teacher and
school to be ready when school begins. Registration Day is
April 22nd in all school divisions (some schools have 2 day
registrations). Contact your school or local school board office
to find out which elementary school your child will attend.

On April 22, 2015 Kindergarten Registration will take place in
Amherst County, Appomattox County, Bedford County, Campbell
County, and the City of Lynchburg.

Kindergarten Readiness:








Collect and share your child’s progress reports and assessments from early care programs
Talk to your child in a positive way about the expectations of school
Read or describe pictures of a book to your child every day
Sing simple songs and play rhyming games
Provide opportunities for your children to play with peers
Help your child meet basic self help skills like washing hands, brushing teeth, toileting and dressing
Join your child in pretend play
Encourage frequent conversations and ask questions
