Random Pattern Projector (RPP) is a divergent dot matrix pattern of NxM pixels with a ratio of bright and dark pixels of approximately 10%. Each bright pixel is surrounded by at least 8 dark pixels with no contact between bright pixels. The bright pixels distribution is pseudo-random and the pattern is symmetric with respect to the center. Multiple laser projectors can be tiled to obtain a larger area while maintaining the same random pattern. It is important to note the relationship between focus and depth of focus (i.e. Range where the thickness remains within 1.4 times minimum), the tighter the focus that can be attained the smaller the depth of focus. At Osela we provide many different focusing options giving you the flexibility to choose the one that best suits your application. 500 140 750 1000 Working distance long range [mm] 1250 1500 1750 2000 2250 2500 2750 600 100 500 Focus option A 80 400 60 300 40 200 500 50 150 750 200 1000 250 300 350 Working distance short range [mm] 400 Working distance long range [mm] 1250 1500 1750 2000 2250 45 450 2500 2750 100 500 3000 1800 1600 40 1400 35 1200 30 1000 25 20 800 Focus option A 600 15 Deptht of focus long range [mm] 20 100 Deptht of focus short range [mm] Smallest beam size 1/e2 long range [um] 700 120 Smallest beam size 1/e2 short range [um] 3000 800 400 10 200 5 0 0 100 125 150 175 200 225 250 275 300 325 350 375 400 425 450 475 500 Working distance short range [mm] Focus Option Smallest beam size Depth Of Field Focus axis beam size 1/e2) At exit of laser (mm) A 1 1 3.5 B 3.5x option A 12x Option A 1 C 0.5x option A 0.25x Option A 7.5 D 1.6x option A 2.5x Option A 2.2 Note on depth of focus: using the definition of depth of focus: range of positions where the spot size is smaller than √2 times the smallest beam size at working distance and removing the range behind the laser, there is a point where the function become linear and all focus options have the same slope.
