UPCOMING EVENTS CARE GROUP CYCLE Sunday, May 10, 2015 WELCOME TO BETHEL TODAY IS MOTHER’S DAY For most people, Mother’s Day is a day of celebration and joy. It is a time to honor our mothers and give thanks for their love and influence upon our lives. However, for some, Mother’s Day can be at best, awkward, and at the worst, painful. Perhaps they have lost their mother or maybe they never had a good relationship with their mother. It could be that they would like to be a mother but cannot, or perhaps they have lost a child. For these women, Mother’s Day is not the same as it is for most everyone else. Regardless of our personal experience, we should try to take the opportunity to utilize Mother’s Day as a time to count our blessings, although our blessings may be different from the blessings of others. Find an older woman who has been a Godly inspiration in your life and let her know how much she means to you. Give God thanks for her. Begins this week Check with your group leader about your group’s start date BREAK-OUT THURSDAYS th This Thursday, May 14 – 7:45 PM BYG SERVICE (Youth) th This Friday, May 15 – 7:30 PM In the Refuge NY METRO DISTRICT CONFERENCE Make a resolution to be a “mother” to younger people in your life; love them, inspire them, mentor them. Be a “mother in Zion” to others. It is important to thank God for the opportunities we DO have rather than just mourn the opportunities we DO NOT have. At Hofstra University Evening Services held in the John Cranford Adams Playhouse Today should be a day of thanks: thanking God and thanking those women who have lovingly molded our lives. And thanking God for the opportunities He has given us to love, guide, and teach others that He has placed in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day!
