Wed, July 8 Warwick, RI After breakfast we transfer to DFW Airport to board our flight to Boston and begin our tour of Cape Cod and More! Our chartered motorcoach will be waiting to transfer us to Warwick, Rhode Island, a suburb of Providence. Rhode Island is the smallest of the 50 United States and was the first colony to declare independence from Britain and the last to ratify the Constitution, holding out until the Bill of Rights was added. Thu, July 9 Warwick, RI We take the short drive to Connecticut and spend the day in the village of Mystic. Historically, a leading seaport of the area, the story of Mystic’s nautical connection is told at Mystic Seaport, the nation’s largest maritime museum. The Charles W Morgan, built in 1841, is the last wooden whaleship in the world and has been permanently berthed at Mystic Seaport since 1941. Fri, July 10 Hyannis, MA Today we travel to Newport, which in the 1800’s was a resort where the rich and famous came to vacation. A local guide will conduct a tour of the area including the famed Ocean Drive and the Bellevue Avenue mansion area. Continuing down cape we will drive through the Cape Cod National Seashore with a view of the lighthouse and to Provincetown, located at the tip of the cape. Mon, July 13 Hyannis, MA We will again board a ferry, this time taking us to Nantucket where we have a narrated tour of this picturesque island. Enjoy the unique charm of the cobblestone streets with its many shops and boutiques. The island is a popular destination for romantic weddings. Tue, July 14 Return home After an exciting week in beautiful Cape Cod we return to the airport in Boston for our flight to DFW. Our motorcoach will be waiting to transfer us to Abilene.
