Revisiting the 007 (Cataloging) — 1 TLEU

As we’ve discovered since the 2.7 upgrade, the 007 and fixed fields play an increasingly
important role in the patron catalog experience.. Please join us and discover how to properly code the 007 and fixed fields that select the icons and form search filters in the catalog.
Better Book Clubs (Circulation) — 1 LEU

Last fall we spent a lot of time discussing how Evergreen Indiana libraries have facilitated
book clubs in the past. This session will focus on how you can use the new procedures to
improve your book club planning experience and highlight things you can do to drive up
attendance at your library’s book clubs.

Cataloging eContent and the 856 (Cataloging) — 1 TLEU

Library collections are shifting to incorporate more and more econtent. How do you catalog econtent in Evergreen and what should you do to integrate an access point for your
patrons? This session will also include a brief discussion on bringing OverDrive records
into the Evergreen client.

In a public library, your materials can be expected to take quite a beating. This session will
talk about how to handle communications and processing materials that are lost or damaged.

Monographic Parts (Cataloging/Circulation) — 1 TLEU

This crossover session, featuring representatives from both the Cataloging and Patron Services Committees, will look at one of the newer features in Evergreen. Monographic parts
allow better focused patron-driven holds, improves the search experience by reducing duplicate bibliographic records, and can speed up cataloging materials with multiple volumes
or elements. Join us to learn how to best leverage parts at your library!

Inventory Made Easy

Last year we did a check-in inventory of all the items in our main library and 2 branches.
Because there isn't an inventory module in Evergreen it was not a simple task but we
found a way to make it simple. We'd like to share what we did with the Evergreen community.

Weeding is a crucial part of library
maintenance. A healthy collection is up-to-date, in good physical condition, and well cataloged. All selectors and staff involved in collection development and maintenance are encouraged to attend.

-sized libraries. Learn about appropriate funding sources, collaborative ideas and common
pitfalls to avoid.
Dealing with Pests (Patron Services) — 1 LEU

Worried about the creepy-crawlies getting into your library? You aren’t alone! The Patron
Services Committee is developing a set of best practices to share around the consortium
and with other consortia in Indiana. As transits continue to increase, we all want to ensure
our materials and libraries are pest-free. This session will talk about what you can do now
to identify warning signs and what you should do to address them.
