The Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association is proud to once again play host to industry professionals
from across the province and country at this year's 99th Annual Convention, taking place April 24th - 25th at
the Sheraton Cavalier.
Over the course of two days, delegates will attend the Annual General Meeting on the Friday evening and the
Better Newspapers Competition Awards on Saturday. They will also have the opportunity to attend workshops
and network with peers. To add to the excitement, they will also be treated to the finest in cuisine and
entertainment.
Take in the sessions, laugh with colleagues, listen and learn from industry experts, renew old acquaintances or make new ones.
The Better Newspapers Competition.
The Better Newspapers Competition celebrates excellence in the community newspaper industry. Each year,
the member papers of the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association submit hundreds of entries
showcasing their talent. The winners are announced at the Better Newspapers Competition Awards gala on
April 25, 2015.
Finalists receive one free banquet ticket to the Better Newspapers Competition Awards gala and one free night
accommodations at the Sheraton Cavalier courtesy of the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association.
Things to keep in mind.
* Everyone attending must fill out and return the registration form
* Hotel rooms at the Sheraton fill up fast. Book your hotel room quickly!
* A dress code (business formal wear) is in effect for the convention weekend

Kevin Slimp is a favorite speaker and trainer in the publishing world
At SWNA, Kevin will wear many hats, offering sessions of interest to everyone.
Late on Saturday, he returns to his familiar role as the "Technology Guru," a role he
embraced in the early 90s, when he developed what we now refer to as the "PDF
Printing Method,” to lead a session in Advanced Photo Editing.

Join Kevin as he leads us through good and bad ads, tips for page design and tools of the trade to improve
the look of our papers.
2:45 pm - 4:00 pm: Advanced Photo Editing Techniques That Anyone Can Master to Improve the Quality of
Images on Pages
