Keio University Graduate School of Media Design Block Seminar Think and Act Outside of the Box -Media Innovation for the Creative Society- In the era of paradigm shift, innovative thinking is in demand. Leaders are expected to take new approaches to observe, analyze and propose solutions to the problems. This Block Seminar is designed to take place in conjunction with KMD (Graduate School of Media Design) Crash Course, an intensive boot camp in which students immerse themselves to understand the importance of multiplicity and making. Students will experience an overview of KMD Method to prepare oneself to think and act outside of the box. The seminar will comprise of series of lectures and hands-on workshops in media design, media technology, media management and media policy. Some classes are conducted as a joint class with KMD new Master track students as well as visiting Master students from KMD partner schools. The joint classes are designed to offer effective out-of-the-box thinking experience by interacting with diversity of students expertise. Dates: September 15, 2015 (Tuesday)-September 20, 2015 (Sunday) Venue: Keio University Hiyoshi Campus and Lake Shirakaba, Nagano, Japan. Student Presentations Students will prepare a PowerPoint and story-based presentation during the seminar. Discussion session is followed by 10 minutes presentation. Evaluation Student evaluation will be made based on personal presentation. Remarks Students are expected to bring laptop computers for workshops and presentations.
