This five-week program will include master classes taught by professional Broadway actors, workshops led by experienced educators and rehearsals for full-scale musical productions. Each morning, Monday through Friday, students take intensive classes in acting, dance, and musical theatre performance. The afternoons are dedicated to rehearsals for main stage productions held the final weekend of the program. Technical rehearsals will take place during the final two weekends of the program, and performances will be held on Saturdays and Sundays as well. Shows will be performed in rotating repertory the final weekend of the program. Children will learn everything from the basics of working with a script to preparing for a production. Boston Children’s Theatre’s professional theatre educators will not only lead participants through the rehearsal process, but will also teach them many basic theatre skills and terminology such as stage directions, improvisation and character development. This fun and interactive program is great for beginners as well as children who have been in productions before.
