June Newsletter
June is our busiest month
We have a very busy June this year. I
want to ask that our season pass players
and regular golfers have patience this
month because this is the month we have
the most golf outings. Please look on our
website calendar to plan your tee time
accordingly. We also have a calendar of
events sign by the pro-shop door as well.
Thanks for your patience.
the cost of our cement mixer. Regarding
fund raising, we are also looking into the
possibility of having a new sponsor level
with large granite rocks engraved. We
will have more information on this after
our golf committee meeting. And a special thanks to Paul Chabot, Wendy Ibberson, and Denny Cross for selling corporate sponsorships.
Our brick sales are going strong. I want
to thank all those patrons again who have
bought the bricks for our cart path fund
raising project. Special thanks to Tony
Bosch and Sunshine Foods for sponsoring
This month we have our 19th Annual
Men’s Open on Sunday, June 21st and our
Ladies Invitational on Wednesday, June
24th. Sign up sheets are in the pro-shop.

Last year in June we had the 2nd worst
flood in BGC history. The golf course has
come a long way since then. I want to
thank Kelly and his crew for having the
course in great shape right now. Our
greens are putting 15% faster than last
year on the stimpmeter so be careful
when you are above the hole!
Talk again in July.

Andrew’s Golf Tip
With all the rain and perfect grass
growing temperatures we're dealing
with some thick rough this
year. Here are three things to help
you out when dealing with the
rough: 1. Hit the fairway. 2. Ok
you can't hit every fairway so the
first thing is to take enough loft to
get out. Advance the ball rather
than duffing it because you are trying to get too much out of a bad lie,
take your medicine and you'll save
strokes. 3. Stay down on the ball
and strike it with a firm downward
blow, do not try to "scoop" it out of
the rough. These things should help
better manage your game out of the
rough.

Superintendent’s Corner
As we move into June there are
events all over the place. We
have 21 outings this month. We
are going to be busy. I need to
send out a thank you to Jeff,
Zane Sr, and Zane Jr. for their
great work on the pump house.
I also have to recognize my
crew, without them this job
would be impossible. If you see
them tell them thanks. It
would mean a lot.
out down there, edge bunkers,
and start spraying for some of
the dandelions and outer edge
weeds.
Get your bricks purchased for
this years cart path project. It
is a great investment for your
course and one of the improvements that lasts a very long
time before needing to be redone. Also, it is really neat to
show people your brick.

June is jumping at the BGC! The community room is full with weddings and golf outings. :-) I am excited for golf outings to start!
This is my 12th season at the BGC so I have
