NJAL – Newton Junior Athletic League Code of Conduct Agreement
The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core
principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. As the parent/guardian(s) of the registered

I/we agree to ensure that I/we and my child abide by the
rules and guidelines set forth by the Cheer Board, Coaches, NJAL Board and any NJAL League Representative, and if I/we or my
child fails to follow the set rules/ regulations, I/we understand that I/we and my child will be subject to disciplinary action that
could include; verbal warning by a coach an official or a league representative, a game suspension with an incident report filed
with the NJAL, or game forfeiture by an official, or a season suspension with an incident report filed with the NJAL.

Cheerleading Program. I also give permission for my child, in the event of an accident, injury, sickness, etc. to be given emergency
medical treatment at a local hospital or urgent care facility. I am aware that the Newton Junior Athletic League carries limited
medical accident insurance to cover all registered participants and that the applicant’s health insurance, if applicable is the primary
insurance of coverage.

Participants may not begin practice or play until registration forms have been
completed and payment has been processed.
Cheerleaders will be assigned to squad level by age and according to the number
of registrants. Squad requests cannot be guaranteed.
Practice will begin late July – Practice will be 2 to 3 nights a week from 6:00-8:00P*
at Memory Park. Registrants will be contacted by a Team Advisor with exact
practice dates. When school begins there will be no weekly practice
Cheerleaders will be required to arrive one hour prior to games for warm-ups and
practice.
*Practice times depend on the availability of the team coaches – times may change
*Flag practice will be 1 hour
*Closer to July the cheer committee will confirm practice days and times
Cheerleaders must wear proper practice attire. Absolutely no jeans or denim shorts,
and no flip flops. Cheerleaders must have water for practice.
Please make every effort to make every practice during the summer practice
session and the fall game season. Please keep in mind Cheer is a TEAM SPORT and
one cheerleader missing affects the entire squad and their entire routine.
