June News
Where has the time gone?
Wow. We simply cannot believe that the end of the school year
is already here. The Bright Child Montessori staff would like to
thank all of our families for their continued support
throughout this school year. We are so grateful to you for
entrusting your children in our care, and for the many
contributions you make to the life of our school. We could not
do it without you. Best wishes for a safe and happy summer!
For those students who will not be joining us over the summer
we look forward to seeing you again in September. For those
students who will be joining us this summer, we have a
fun-filled day camp planned for you. And to those students
who are moving on, we wish you the best in the years ahead!
We sincerely hope your time with us was happy and
productive.
Summer Day Camp Registration is now open!
If your child’s schedule is changing for the summer, please
email Mr. T. ([email protected]) as soon as possible. As of
now, we are going to assume your schedule is staying the
same. We need to know right away so that we can schedule
staff accordingly.
We still have some room for School Age Summer Camp if you
have any older children that require care throughout the
summer. Ms. Hill has set up a summer full of events and field
trips around town. Send us an email if you would like a
registration package.
Casa Theme
Our casa students will be learning about Canada and our
province, Ontario. The students will be learning about
Canadian people, wildlife, land and water forms, pond life and
some of our national symbols. We’ll also be taking a closer look
at our historic town of Amherstburg.
Kinder Casa and Infant Themes
The Kinder Casa and Infant theme this month is Family. Home
life is the most important aspect of a child’s early years, and
family activities can and should be talked about at school. This
gives our students the opportunity to talk about the people most
important to them and also helps them realize that family is
something we all have in common, regardless of how our
families look.
Father’s Day!
Sunday, June 21st is Father’s Day! Our staff would like to wish all
of you great fathers a very happy father’s day! Enjoy your day
together as you celebrate being a father and your role in your
child’s life.
Report Cards
Report cards for Casa and KinderCasa will be going out during
the last week of June. If you have recently enrolled, you will not
receive a report card.
Bright Child Family Musical Picnic and Graduation
Please note that the date for our picnic and graduation is
Saturday, June 6th from 9:30am-12:00pm.
- If your child will not be able to make our family musical picnic please
notify Mrs. Andrews a.s.a.p. by email ([email protected])
- Our morning will include student performances, family sing along,
group dance, and Casa Graduation. A pot luck picnic lunch will follow.
- Please encourage our older children who are playing recorder to
practice often (these children have been given a recorder and a bag
with music and information).
June 5th, P.D Day
Friday, June 5th is a P.D day for all school age students. Please let
Mr. T know a.s.a.p. by email if your child will be attendance on
Friday.
Proper Footwear and Extra Clothing
Our teachers would like to remind parents to have proper
footwear for your child on our playground. Children often fall
while running when wearing open sandals or loose crocs. Please
send running shoes for outdoor play. Also, please remember to
replenish your child’s extra clothes with weather appropriate
attire. Long pants should be replaced with shorts and long
sleeve shirt should be replaced with short sleeve shirts.
“We must, therefore, quit our roles as jailers and instead take care to prepare an environment in which we do as little as possible to exhaust
the child with our surveillance and instruction.” - Dr. Maria Montessori
