Stephen Andrews will start his employment with Bristol Township Police Department on March 30th, 2015. Thomas Leinheiser will start his employment with Bristol Township Police Department on April 6th, 2015. Under the supervision of Acting Chief of Police Ralph Johnson, Officer Andrews and Officer Leinheiser will be trained to work in the patrol division as first responders to calls for service. Both Officers were chosen from approximately 100 candidates who passed the Bucks County Consortium Test for police officers and both Officers have already completed their Municipal Police Officer Training Certification Requirements. Officer Andrews is a graduate of Council Rock South High School and Montgomery County Community College Municipal Police Academy. He has nine months experience as a part time police officer for Tullytown Borough Police Department. Officer Leinheiser is a graduate of Conwell/Egan Catholic High School, a graduate of Temple University with a BA in Criminal Justice, and a graduate of Temple University’s Municipal Police Academy. He has eight months experience as a part time police officer for Tullytown Borough Police Department. With the hiring of Officer Andrews and Officer Leinheiser, the Police Department is beginning to fill positions that have been left vacant through attrition. “We are happy for the opportunity to further staff the police department and provide for the safety and service of township residents,” said Council President Craig Bowen, at the Council meeting on Wednesday evening.
