IRO Symposium 2015
We are pleased that today we can offer you the registration form as well as further
information about the 15th International Rescue Dog Symposium held in Rovereto (IT),
16. – 18.04.2015, on our homepage www.iro-symposium.org
The IRO Rescue Dog Symposium 2015 will take place under the theme 'Rescue dog
work changes – Rescue dog work through the ages!' and we are looking forward to
welcoming you in Rovereto!
Programme
The 15th International Rescue Dog Symposium will take place in MART Museum in
Rovereto (IT) under the theme ‘Rescue dog work changes – Rescue dog work
through the ages!’ and will start on Thursday, 16.04.2015, at noon with a welcome
snack then followed by lectures in the afternoon and a common aperitif/warm buffet in
the evening. On Friday, 17.04.2015, there will be lectures held during the whole day,
before IRO will invite to an Italian evening. On Saturday, 18.04.2015, lectures will be
offered until noon.
Afterwards there will be a joint transport to a nearby Grappa distillery with guided tour
and Grappa tasting as well as lunch before we move on to Marco to the generously laid
out trainings area of the Italian organisation Scuola Provinciale Cani da ricerca e
catastrofe ONLUS – SPCDRC. Within this national afternoon, they will offer
demonstrations with their partners and local emergency response organisations. There
will then be a farewell party with lots of culinary delights, music and entertainment in
Marco that evening!
Please be aware that the IRO meeting of delegates will be held on Sunday, 19.04.2015,
at the MART museum in Rovereto (IT), 09am – 12.00am.
We also want to point out the
possibility of training for all NRO on the training grounds of SPCDRC in Marco (IT) from
20. – 23.04.2015, 06pm – 10pm. An International IRO testing event will take place there
from 24. – 26.04.2015 (International day of search and rescue dogs 2015!).
All in all we are sure to offer a very good supporting program next to interesting lectures.
This will also allow a combination together with the IRO meeting of delegates and/or
training possibility and an International IRO testing event. We are looking forward to
welcoming you and to an active exchange of information!
We are very happy to have local support from the already for many years existing IRO
member organisation Scuola Provinciale Cani da ricerca e catastrofe ONLUS
(SPCDRC) .
Speakers
We want to thank all IRO member organisations who followed our offer to bring in
suggestions. The IRO office is now keen to realize all wishes received.
First positive talks have been made so that we can offer well-known representatives
from our worldwide member organisations such as from the Technische Hilfswerk (DE),
REDOG (CH), KVRP-Kranj (SI), AG Mantrailing (DE), CSP France (FR), Feuerwehr
Wiesbaden/Disaster control (DE) and in a final step off course also from our Italian
member organisation in Rovereto, SPCDRC (IT).
Beyond we are looking forward to representatives of UN/INSARAG, VetMed experts with
comprehensive international practical deployment experience, a worldwide recognised
professional in Mantrailing, an author from the area of dog behaviour management, as
well as the longtime IRO president, Dr. Wolfgang Zörner.
The variety of themes embraces an interesting bow looking at the main theme ‘Rescue
dog work changes – rescue dog work through the ages’ on different angles:
• The development of International disaster management/emergency help and an
outlook on future challenges
• Practical deployment experience under consideration of
stress factor for dog and human, VetMed aspects, thermal & wind, Cadaver Search as
well as decontamination
• Demands on the construction of a modern USAR trainings
area, focussed scent detection training as well as Mantrailing as reasonable addition for
area search
• But off course also changes for the rescue dog work and also for IRO:
Past, present, future perspectives
A detailed overview on speakers & themes will be provided on this site soon!
