B.A.T. Cage/BYS 8U Tournament Team Tryout Memorial Day Classic May 22-25, 2015 Brunswick Athletic Training 1255 North Carpenter Road Brunswick, OH 44212 330-273-9559  3 games guaranteed; games scheduled Friday through Monday  Fields: Mooney Park and other Brunswick area fields as needed.  Team and Individual trophies to 1st place team Special Tryout - 8U Athletes! Brunswick Youth Sports and the B.A.T. Cage are conducting special tryouts on May 9 and May 11 for 8U athletes from Brunswick who would like to play in the 2015 Memorial Day Classic Baseball Tournament. Athletes selected to represent Brunswick in the tournament will be required to pay a $45 fee, which will cover all tournament expenses, including the team jersey (players must provide pants) and cap. The team will be coached by Scott Kaczmar, hitting instructor and Club Team trainer at the B.A.T. Cage, who will lead practices outdoors (pending weather and field availability) and/or at the B.A.T. Cage in preparation for the tournament. This is a unique opportunity for young athletes in our community to represent our city and play travel level tournament baseball with other athletes from our community, with the added value of working with Coach Kaczmar in practices and throughout the tournament schedule. About Coach Kaczmar…The Akron area high school prep player of the year in 1990 at Walsh Jesuit and an all-Ohio pick, Scott was a 3 year letter winner at Ohio State and was named second team All-Big Ten. He blasted a school record 18 HR in ’94, and was the only Buckeye to earn All-Atlantic II Regional honors, hitting .455. Scott was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and three-time member of the Academic All-Big Ten Team. After his college career, Scott played 2 years professionally in the Frontier and Texas-Louisiana Independent Leagues. He has worked as an assistant hitting coach at CSU and has also coached at Walsh Jesuit, helping with their summer baseball camps. Scott is a Club Team trainer and hitting instructor at the B.A.T.
