It has been a long, cold winter, but warmer days are coming and it is time to start thinking
about the swim club and your membership for a summer full of fun activity and cool
relaxation with your friends and neighbors. Because of great success last year, we are
again reaching out to neighborhood residents by mailing membership information directly
to you. If you have already joined using forms emailed to you or available on the
community website, www.burkestation.net please pass this registration form on to a friend
or neighbor that might be interested in joining our swim club. The club is not only the “hot
spot” for the summer, but a huge, positive asset to the Burke Station community.
Membership Rates
The rate structure and fees have been approved and will remain the same again for the
2015 season. BSCA members (Burke Station Square residents current with their
association dues) are eligible for the lower “neighborhood” rate. Early Bird rates also
apply. Deduct $25 if you submit your completed application and pay by April 15th.
Families are asked to submit a photograph(s) of all family members listed with their
registration form to be kept on file at the swim club. Individual membership cards will be
used for club entrance again this year and can be picked up at the front desk. We also
offer a senior discount for our members 62 years of age or older. If you have any

Guest Fees and Passes
Members are encouraged to bring their guests to enjoy our wonderful swim club. Our guest
fee remains $4/guest/ visit. All guests should be signed in and paid for by the member
before entering the club. We can only accept the member’s check made payable to BSCA.
Please don’t ask the lifeguards to accept another check, cash, or take an IOU!
Pre-paid guest pass cards will be available again this season.
A guest pass card for 5 guest visits can be purchased for $20. Members can always choose
to pay for a guest at each visit, but remember, no guest can visit more than twice a week or
10 times/season. Guests must be accompanied by the member at ALL times and are the
responsibility of the member. Parents that purchase guest passes or write a check for
guests of their children imply their consent and responsibility.
Swim Team
Swim team will host an information night on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in the community
room, 7-8pm. Come out to get questions answered about how you and your child(ren) can
participate. Registration will be Friday, May 15, from 6-8pm in the poolhouse. Sport Fair
will be there selling goggles and the team’s 2015 swimsuit. The season is 8 weeks long
with the first team practice after school on Tuesday, May 26, and the first meet scheduled
for Saturday, June 20. Divisionals and the team’s end of season dinner & party are
scheduled for Saturday, July 25. More detailed information, including the Registration
packet, can be found on the Burke Station website.
Junior Destroyers (ages 4-6) will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:3010:00am beginning June 30 and ending July 23. Participants are invited to attend the
Lollipop Meet on 7/15 as well as participate in the swim team's B Meets as they increase

Information for Members

Swim parties are popular every year with our members. A discounted guest rate applies for pre-arranged groups and
the community room is available to rent for larger events. Contact Gayle at 703.923.9851 (leave a message) to check
availability and make arrangements at least a week in advance. Lifeguard staffing cannot be provided for short notice
parties and groups, so please plan accordingly.
Childcare Guest Passes—We are offering our members with childcare situations a single season payment of
$100/person to add a sitter, or child that a member cares for, as an addendum to your membership. It is our hope that
members with summer-long childcare arrangements will find this more convenient than the half-price weekly option.
Swim club privileges only apply within the childcare situation and sitters/sittees will not have access to the club without
the member. Members always have the option of paying the daily guest fee per visit.
Swim Lessons – The swim club does not formally provide swim lessons for members, but arrangements can be made
to use club facilities, provided the instructor OR student is a member. Lifeguards and swim team coaches can provide
lessons in their off duty hours to members or members can choose to bring in a guest. Swim lesson request forms are
available online and should be submitted in advance. Members are responsible for signing their guest in and paying the
appropriate fees. Special fee arrangements can be made.
Opening Day will be Saturday, May 23. This will also be an OPEN HOUSE POTLUCK from 12-3pm, so watch for more
detailed information about what to bring. Memberships will be available to purchase during the open house. Come enjoy
the opening day party, check out the facility, and think about joining. For safety considerations, non-members will be
required to sign a waiver before using club facilities & children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

A pool workday is tentatively scheduled for May 9. Volunteers that work a minimum of 5 hours can earn a guest pass
card (worth 5 guest visits) to use during the 2015 season. We are also looking for a volunteer to lead a workday. Email
[email protected] or [email protected] to be added to the volunteer email list and watch for more
information to come.
