“I believe it’s essential,
particularly in Business,
that students attempt
to obtain Internships.
It provides an incredible
experience for
undergraduates to get
graduate-specific skills,
whilst getting to taste
what your potential
career might hold for
you.”
“Be a Mentor for the
Faculty of Business to
develop your
communication and
build your network.
Also, become a Dean’s
Scholar - This is an
amazing opportunity
to meet new people!
There’s also a great
study facility available
for Dean’s Scholars.”
“Having practical
knowledge in our
chosen field of education
is essential. Everybody
should undertake an
Internship at any point of
their university life and
definitely join a club or
society to enhance their
social and
communication skills,
which would be essential
to join the competitive
Australian job market.”

Good luck with your midsession tests and assessment

are concerning you please book an appointment to meet
with one of the Heads of Students.
Dr Ananda Wickramasinghe has decided to step down from
his position as Head of Students effective 18th May 2015.
He has been a fantastic advocate of the Postgraduate
students in the Faculty of Business. Ananda regularly works
from Sydney to assist the students at the Sydney Business
School Campus. Reetu and I will miss his wonderful
professionalism and caring manner that he displays for all
the students that he assists. We in the Head of Students Unit
will miss his wonderful smile and infectious laugh.
If you need to talk to one of the Heads of

Heads of Students play a key role in our Faculty, providing
high quality student advice and approvals, working
collaboratively with the Schools, central Faculty units
such as the International Team, and with other UOW units.
It’s almost time for the mid-session exams, so make sure you
are implementing a well organised study plan.
One of the most important ways to ensure that you do your
best at University is to follow a study plan and regular
revision should be a key part of your study.
