The Robert F. Phifer Art Collection - On loan from the North Carolina
Museum of Art, the exhibition includes fourteen 19th and early 20th century
paintings that were last on public display in 1973. The works were collected by
Concord native Robert F. Phifer (1849-1928), a prosperous planter and cotton
buyer and the first benefactor of the North Carolina Museum of Art.
