Holiday Homework - 2015 Class - III Cambridge Primary School, New Friends Colony The much awaited summer vacations have arrived ! And yes! We have decided to give very little homework so that you have more time to spend on things which you really like.....hobbies, reading, swimming, playing instruments, board games, cycling, drawing, gardening and so many more of them.....so RELAX & ENJOY !!! Remember to revise all work done in school. English 2 book reviews from the given list of books/ series : a) Enid Blyton Series b) Favourite Tales and Read It Yourself Series from Ladybird c) Classic Readers by Walt Disney Each of the two book reviews should be written as an essay of 100-150 words. Format to be followed for writing the book reviews The introductory paragraph could have the name of the book along with that of the author, the illustrator and the publisher. The setting of the story could be included in this paragraph eg. ‘Matilda’- This story is about a girl with an unusual power who lived in England (and not say that the story is set in England). In the next one or two paragraphs you can write the story in brief emphasising the interesting/funny/scary/exciting incidents and relevant details from the book. In the last paragraph you can write what you liked and disliked about the story, or the characters in it, giving reasons and can comment on the way the story ended and how you felt in the end. To be done on A-4 size sheets with the name, class & section of the child, the name of the book and the author and a colourful illustration drawn by the child (on the cover page). Hindi Read at least two stories and write which part of the story you liked the most (in one paragraph of 5-6 sentences each with an illustration) Write about two interesting games that you played during the holidays in a small paragraph of 3-4 sentences for each (Each paragraph should include the name of the game, how many players are required to play it and with whom you played it. Draw / paste pictures showing you playing it with others) To be presented on A-4 size sheets Maths Do pages 12-16 from NEM Practice Book 3. Learn tables from 2-10. Quiz on ‘Dodge Tables’ will be held after the school reopens. Collection Children to make a collection of dried leaves and flowers (at least 10). They must paste the sample on a card, no more than half the size of an A-4 sheet, number the samples and identify each by its name (both in English and Hindi) In the month of July the children would display their collections as a small exhibition in their classrooms. Collect at least 10 pictures of monuments in Delhi and put them in an envelope. Remember to write the caption for each monument.
