Horse Show Bits and Tips—An Exhibitors Guide www.cambridgesaddleclub.org All Horses must be accompanied by a current Rabies, and Horses over 6 mos. a 2014 or 2015 Negative Coggins. We follow NY State Ag and Markets Animal Health Requirements for New York State and County Fairs. You must present the day of the show the minimum information indicated by Ag and Markets to have your horse on the Cambridge Saddle Club Grounds (go to www.agmkt.state.ny.us for requirements or our Veterinary Records fact sheet for the Cambridge Saddle club on our website). Our club requires out of state horses to have a 2015 Negative Coggins. No horse may be entered twice in the same class in the same age division. 1. Exhibitors MUST have their horse/s entered, the release form completed and exhibitor number displayed before riding, lunging or entering a ring including warm-up. 2. Age Divisions are based on the exhibitors age as of January 1st of current year. 3. Beginners are 10 years and under, w/t/j ONLY and may not have competed in any class at any show requiring a lope or canter, including cantering or loping on the grounds the day of the show. 4. Lead line youth are 6 years and younger and cannot participate in any other classes. 5. Junior = 13 yrs and under, Senior = 14 to 18 yrs, Youth w/t/j = 18 yrs and under, Adult = 19 yrs and over. 6. No horse and rider combination that participates in either the Youth or Adult w/t/j classes are permitted to enter any class requiring a canter or lope, nor canter or lope on the grounds the day of the show. 7. Trail classes to open after halter and showmanship and close at posted time day of the show. Trail area is not open for practice prior to trail classes. 8. Western and English Performance, Western and English Trail can be done by all exhibitors in those respective classes on a first come first serve basis (i.e. junior, senior, adult, etc.. will not go in order). Exhibitors simply report to the ring or trail course and announce their number and class and do their respective pattern or trail course. Please get these classes over early on, there are limited time frames for these classes. 9. Bathrooms are located in the Club House and an outhouse located across from the club house in the parking area. 10. Warmup and practice can take place in: the west ring all day and the main ring prior to start of show and during lunch break. 11. All under the age of 18 years are to wear a helmet meeting or exceeding the Equestrian Standard when mounted. This includes both English and Western. In addition, ALL exhibitors in jumping classes regardless of age must wear a helmet with the above requirements and the chin strap is to be in place and fastened appropriately. 12. Water spicket is located adjacent to large tree about 70 ft from the main ring entrance and another spicket is located in front of the Club House. 13. All Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning around their trailers prior to leaving the grounds. All loose hay should be picked up and trash placed in barrels and all manure placed in hedge rows on perimeter of grounds (NOT THE TRAIN TRACKS) or next to brushy areas around the grounds. 14. Exhibitors who participate in their respective breed associations for show points are encouraged to check with their associations for approval to include CSC Shows. Our management is accessible to sign off and/or provide show results needed for documentation of your performance. 15. Yield to marked off areas on the grounds such as the trail course area, club house/concession area, West Ring, etc… 16. All horses should not go faster then a walk when not in a ring or designated practice area.
