Paris - Summer 2015
THE PROGRAM
Texas A&M University partners with EUSA Academic Internship Programs to provide students with outstanding
international work experiences in Dublin, Madrid and Paris. Internships are available in virtually all professional
fields – private sector businesses, the law, NGOs, professional associations, schools, hospitals, political parties,
public policy think tanks and lobby groups, banking and finance, and many other areas.
Placements will be determined by your goals for your internship, prior experience, studies, and professional plans.
The EUSA internship team from each city will interview each successful applicant individually by phone or Skype
to discuss the internship process and your goals and expectations for the internship placement. You will be asked to
identify three different areas of interest/types of internships that match your internship learning goals. EUSA Paris
will use these to find an internship site that matches one of your interests. Placement Interviews and a Mandatory
Orientation will take place early in March 2015 for students accepted into the program. The internship teams ask
that you request work by type of work and industry sector rather specific company or organization names.
For more information please visit the EUSA website at www.eusainternships.org.
ACADEMIC COURSE
These internships are unpaid and all participating students will be required to receive academic credit for the
internships experience. Therefore, all students participating in this program will be enrolled in the Cooperative
Education Program class in their home department. As appropriate, additional 1-2 credit hours for the internship
may be negotiated on an individual basis with a professor in your home department to meet requirements for a 3
credit hour elective.
ELIGIBILITY
• Currently enrolled Texas A&M University students with a GPR of at least 2.80 and in good standing with the
University are eligible to apply. Students graduating prior to the program’s departure are ineligible to
participate in a TAMU/EUSA internship.
• Students must have successfully completed at least 45 credit hours, including any home department
requirement for enrollment in the Cooperative Education course.
• Students applying for an internship in Paris must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate language proficiency in
French. Placement in high-quality internships depends upon your ability to listen, converse, read and
write in French with a high level of proficiency. At minimum, you must demonstrate proficiency equivalent
to the skills achieved at the end of fifth semester university-level language study. Even though you hear that
English is the language of business in many countries, you cannot expect that English will be spoken in your
work setting.
• Students must have a current passport, valid for up to six months following the end of the internship program.
• Upon selection as a participant, the student agrees to provide all information requested and abide by the
program requirements. The EUSA online application materials must be completed prior to the phone
Placement Interviews in early March.
• Participants must provide evidence of health insurance coverage.
• Students must have demonstrated the ability to function effectively in a cross-cultural environment and to
uphold the image of Texas A&M University.
