personnel who will be installing,
configuring, administering, managing
and/or troubleshooting the Catalogic
DPX software
The DPX System Administration training prepares an individual
to successfully implement Catalogic DPX. Participants will learn
how to install and configure DPX, perform backup and restore
operations, and use DPX to protect applications like Exchange,
SQL, SharePoint, Oracle, and VMware. As part of hands-on lab
exercises, students will perform DPX advanced recovery options
including Instant Access, Instant and Full Virtualization, Rapid
Return to Production, and Bare Metal Recovery. The course
also discusses the advanced integration of DPX with NetApp
technologies like SnapVault, SnapMirror, and configuring DPX to
archive backup data to tape.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be
able to:
• Describe the components of an DPX and their functions
• Install and configure Catalogic DPX software
• Configure and perform DPX backup and recovery jobs
• Explain and use DPX Advanced Recovery options including
IA, IV, FV, and BMR
• Protect Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Oracle, and VMware
environments using DPX
• Perform NDMP backups and restores using DPX
• Build DPX advanced integration with NetApp technologies
• Design a comprehensive backup and DR strategy using
DPX

Prerequisites
• Insight into the DPX Change Journal
To understand the content and successfully complete this course,
a student must have:
• DPX solution Design Considerations
• Knowledge of NetApp disk storage systems and Data
ONTAP operating system
• Knowledge of data protection principles and techniques
• Basic system administration experience on Microsoft
Windows operating system
