Mark Raper named Diocesan Chancellor
Bishop Peter Christensen announced that he appointed Mark Raper as Chancellor of the Diocese
of Boise, effective May 1, 2015. Mark is currently the Diocesan Director of the Office of
Canonical Affairs/Tribunal and holds a degree in Canon Law. Some of his duties with that office
will be reassigned.
Mark joined the diocese in 1999 as a Tribunal Case Manager, and was appointed Director in
2004. He earned a Licentiate and Master’s degree in Canon Law from St. Paul University in
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Mark succeeds Marcella Wilske, who served as Chancellor since 2008.
Bishop Christensen made the announcement at a staff meeting at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
He thanked Marcella Wilske for her years of dedicated service. Bishop Christensen indicated
these changes are part of a general restructuring at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
