SUMMER STUDENT POSITION – Summer Camp and Farm Care Assistant
I have received funding to hire a student to assist in delivering our Summer Camp program
and assist with care of the animals in our farm sanctuary. The funding has the following
conditions:
● student must be returning to full time school in the fall
● preference is given to applicants with a First Nations heritage or of a visible minority
● 8 weeks of full-time work
Other qualifications include:
● fluency in English with preference for bilingualism in English and French
● experience working with, caring for and entertaining children ages 5 to 11
● leadership experience
● physically capable of manual work like mucking stalls and lifting bales of hay
● willingness to learn and follow procedures
● comfort and experience working with large animals such as horses and donkeys
● comfort getting muddy, exploring nature around the creek
● excellent communication skills and ability to explain issues to public
● First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
The position involves
● farm animal care
● assisting with running of summer camp, ensuring the participants are engaged, safe and

enjoying the camp (see camp brochure on the CCWR website)
full time availability for summer camp weeks (July 6 - 10, July 13 - 17 and August 10 - 14)
other 5 weeks of hours are negotiable wildlife telephone hotline response
Note: There is no public transport to the CCWR location. Applicants will have to arrange their
own. Living accommodation at CCWR may be arranged in exchange for holiday farm care.
