These classrooms were no longer used when the Parish Education Center was built in 1999. Since then this space has been underutilized and is not well configured for use as a meeting or administrative space. Due to the aging infrastructure , including the HVAC system, the space requires immediate attention. The goal of the project is to better use this space effectively and efficiently and to bring it up to local and national codes. UPCOMING EVENTS (at a glance) Oct 23 ~ Parish Visit to Miraculous Medal Shrine Oct 28 ~ Prep Nov 9 & 12 ~ SJR Early Childhood Open House SECOND COLLECTION: Next weekend the second collection will be for World Missions. The funds will be used to help build the Church in Mongolia, the world’s youngest Catholic Church. October 12, 2014 2 122 Twenty-eighth Sunday Dear Friends, This Thursday, October 16th, at 7 PM in Saint Ignatius Church in Yardley, there will be a Holy Hour for Vocations. This Holy Hour is for families to gather and pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life as well as for individuals to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament for discernment about a vocation to the priesthood or religious life. Following the Holy Hour there will be refreshments and time for conversation with others who may be discerning the call. Please call the parish office if you are interested in attending or contact Father Jonathan Dalin, the Bucks County Vocations Coordinator, at 215.493.3377 extension 211 or at [email protected]. We continue to make progress on the construction and renovation plans for the new Narthex and parish Office Center. I am most grateful to those who have already made a pledge or made a contribution to the “BUILDING ON OUR FAITH...EXPANDING OUR LEGACY” campaign. There is still time for participating in this exciting venture and we would like to hear from you as soon as possible with a pledge or contribution. THANK YOU for your kind consideration! In Ordinary Time On this the Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time Saint Paul reminded us that God will supply whatever we need. We heard at Mass today a lot about banquet images. Through these images it is easy to imagine God as loving and generous. The challenge this week, as always, is to live each day with a sense of gratitude for God’s providence in our lives and to express this thankfulness in loving service to those whom God places in our paths this week. You can’t go wrong living a life of gratitude and loving service! WONDERFUL NEWS!!.....Father Steven Mills, our deacon from two years ago (Father Stokely’s classmate) , now a priest of the Diocese of Lincoln, will be with us on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26th, to celebrate the 11 AM Mass. Father Mills will be in this part of the country that weekend to celebrate a wedding and he has graciously accepted our invitation to come back to Saint Robert’s to offer a Mass here as a priest! We will have Family Fellowship in Monsignor Marley Hall that weekend, so please stop after Mass to greet Father Mills, another success story from Lincoln AND Warrington! We are happy to have FATHER EDWARD GLANZMANN home with us here in Warrington for the next two weeks. I am sure we join his parents Ed and Pat in welcoming Father Ed home and wishing him a relaxing two week vacation ! Next weekend our parish will celebrate World Mission Sunday. This year we are invited to reach out and help build the Church in Mongolia, the world’s youngest Catholic Church. My niece worked for a year in Mongolia with the Peace Corps. I remember her stories of the primitive village where she taught English and how she so loved these kind and gentle people. With this disposition, Mongolia should be a place for the faith to take hold and grow. Please come prepared next weekend to give your usual generosity to this second collection for the Propagation of the Faith. For more information, please visit www.IAmAMissionary.org. Our actions touch other lives and move other hearts in ways we can never fully understand in this world. Don’t ever underestimate the beauty and power of the witness you give in your pro-life work." ~ Archbishop Charles Chaput, Politics and the Devil: Living in a World of Unbelief, South Bend, Ind., April 8, 2011 ~ Class, Confessions for Grades 4-6 NO Class Feast of the Immaculate Conception Holy Day of Obligation Lessons and Carols Advent/Christmas Program 7PM in Church Class No Class - Christmas Break Merry Christmas No Class - Christmas Break APPEAL TO MEN FOR THE IMPRISONED Men are needed to visit the long-term imprisoned. The inmates are isolated from society, but we try to help them realize they are not isolated from Jesus. They may be society’s lost sheep, but not for our Lord. No particular skills are needed - only the love of our faith and the willingness to help. During this month, when we focus on Respecting Life from conception until natural death, the words of our Archbishop will hopefully encourage all of us to take some action – no matter how seemingly small.
