Winter Greetings! The mild winter weather we’ve been having gives us all a boost of energy. We’re ready to

Sign-ups for the bus trip for the Cabin Fever Shop Hop have already begun! The bus will leave My Sister’s
Quilt Shoppe on Friday, February 19, at 8:00 a.m. and return at 5:00 p.m. For only $29 you can ride the bus,
receive a free lunch, 5 new patterns (1 from each shop), and coupons for each shoppe. The patterns are provided to
all shop hop participants, but the coupons are exclusive for bus participants only! Sign up today—space is limited!

Flannels have now been added to our inventory! Moda’s new Creekside Trail Flannels by Holly Taylor have
arrived. This ‘northern woods’ line of flannels is very inviting and perfect for a rustic look quilt. We have several
patterns that would work well for this fabric line—stop in today to see this beautiful fabric line and get started
early on your next flannel project! The line also has several fabrics that would blend well and work perfectly for a
flannel back to a quilt top you have waiting to finish! We also have several new batiks that we have added in the
shoppe—and cappuccino balipops have arrived! Check out the new bag pattern featuring the cappuccino balipop! Our
shoppe sample will be completed soon! Please stop in the shoppe and look at the new Snap Sack Kits!
Our Thimbleberries 2010 Quilt Club is underway and we should be seeing the fabrics in the shoppe soon! In
the meantime, the Thimbleberries Jelly Bean Mystery Quilt groups are getting close to completing their quilt project! Be sure to watch for the shoppe sample to make its appearance in the shoppe in the coming weeks. There’s
also still time to sign up for Thimbleberries Kit Club! The sample for the first quarter project is completed and on
display in the shoppe! It’s a beauty too! This club has both day and evening class times! Spaces are limited, so sign
up soon!
We’ve added open sewing sessions back on our class calendar. Sign up and spend a few hours sewing and completing your projects with Sally! Check the class calendar for available dates and times. Sign up early—class space is
limited.
The Thangles 2010 kits for the first month are ready! If you have already signed up, stop in at the shoppe
to pick up your first block! We’re very excited about this year’s Thangles project. If you haven’t signed up for this
year’s quilt as yet, you can still do so. Our shoppe sample isn’t quite finished yet, but you can stop in to see the
colors of red and green that will highlight this quilt! For just $3.00 a month you can have 12 blocks ready for
assembly by December. You will be amazed at how easy Thangles can make quilt assembly.

Try the Fons a& Porter mechanical fabric pencil! It comes complete with a supply of white ceramic lead. The ceramic
led is specially formulated for fabric and made from water soluble dyes. Everyone that we’ve talked to that has tried it raves

Inclement Weather Information
This winter we also need to note that inclement weather may prevent us from being able to open the shoppe. We will
again follow the local school closings with one minor adjustment. If Sheboygan schools are closed due to weather because of
snow accumulation and road conditions, the shoppe will also be closed. If Sheboygan schools are closed simply because of temperatures and wind chill, the shoppe WILL BE OPEN. Please call the shoppe at 920-457-4787 if you have any questions regarding our inclement weather policy.

Hidden Wells with Barb Tryon
Hidden Wells makes use of 7 fabrics from two color families, with varying scale and
prints. Build on your color selection skills and learn a new quilt pattern technique in the
process. The end result is stunning, but Barb assures us the quilt assembly is easy to follow.

Barb Tryon has been quilting for over 30 years. She has been a member and a past President of the Sheboygan Quilt Guild.
Barb does a yearly workshop in Las Vegas, NV, drawing participants from as far away as Australia and England. Many of her
quilting techniques are learned and combined with techniques of other well known quilters, such as Mary Ellen Hopkins, and
Marti Mitchell. Barb has been teaching quilting classes for over 20 years.
Thimbleberries Quilt Club 2010—Sally
This club will meet once each month, with two convenient times available for you. Fabrics are still arriving, but we have a picture on display by the register of the completed quilt. Sign up today—spaces will be limited! The sample will be up in a few
weeks. We have split the day class into two classes, so class participants will come either the second or third Monday each
month. If you have already signed up we will be contacting you to get you assigned to one of the available class times.

PMS Night!
Bring your sewing machine and your projects for a night of Potluck (or Pizza!), Munchies, and Sewing! In January the ladies
voted to share pizza rather than bringing a pot luck item! Made it a little simpler for everyone to only need to bring a munchie
to pass and their sewing machine and projects! We’re trying to schedule a PMS night once each month for the third Friday
night —with the exception of March. March will need to be the second Friday due to scheduling conflicts! Sign up today!

Beginning Quilting—Sally
Our beginning quilting class will cover 4 class sessions, once each month, beginning in February
and ending in May. Quilters will learn basic quilting techniques, including how to select fabrics,
basic cutting techniques, piecing, chain stitching, quilt top assembly, and will also include finishing, quilting and binding the quilt. Class schedule is designed to take quilters from beginning
through completion of the quilt. Our shoppe sample is on display —stop in to see! We can
prepare a kit for you using the same fabrics as the shoppe sample, or we will help you select
fabrics of your choice! Because this class is so popular, we have scheduled three different
class options!
Class Fee—$60 for all 4 sessions, plus materials
Group A—Thursday, February 4th, , Wednesdays, March 10th, April 7th and May 12th—5:30 p.m.—8:30 p.m.
Group B— Tuesday evenings, February 16th, March 9th, April 27th, and May 11th—5:30 p.m.—8:30 p.m.

Finishing Your Quilt—Sally
There always seem to be a few questions when you get to the point of finishing your quilts. This class will walk you through the
necessary steps for finishing your quilt once the top has been pieced and the quilting is completed. How to prepare and attach
your binding, and different techniques for finishing the binding.
Class Fee—$15, plus materials

Open Sew Sessions with Sally
Do have a few projects—either projects that you started on your own, or projects that you just couldn’t get completed from
prior classes? We’re setting aside some time each month when you can come for an open sewing session with Sally—she will be
available to help you through completion of those UFO projects, and be available for any questions you may have. Sign up

Black and White Quilt—Sally
Have you always wanted to create a Black and White Quilt but just don’t know where to start or how to organize your fabrics?
Not quite sure about just a black and white quilt, and want to add a splash of color, but don’t know how to incorporate one colored fabric? Here’s the class for you! Sally will teach you how to put together this classic quilt. Sign up early—space is limited.

Thimbleberries Jelly Bean Mystery Quilt
The Thimbleberries Jelly Bean Mystery Quilt Club will be having their last session in February! Time has gone so fast! In
February the club members will be assembling their quilt blocks and finally get a picture of what their Mystery Quilt will look
like! The fabric line and pattern are designed by Lynette Jensen and are full of the wonderful designs and fabrics that we
know as Thimbleberries! The finished quilt measures 56”x68” . Watch for the shoppe sample to be on display in the shoppe in
the upcoming weeks—as soon as we let the club members in on the fully mystery of their quilt design!
Club members will receive a mystery bonus at their last class session.
Mystery Quilt Club/Kit— Class fee—$18.50 per month, INCLUDING pattern and fabrics for quilt top.

Moda You
Be sure to let us know if you are interested in joining Moda You! Our Thursday night
class is full, but we are taking signups for starting a second Moda You group.
Moda University—The current Moda University class meets on the fourth Thursday evening of each month. Moda University
is a quilt club featuring projects with Moda fabrics. Although our Thursday night Club is full, you can still sign up and we will
schedule another class on another day/time, and you too can participate in the advantages available only to Moda You members.
Several quilt projects are offered throughout the year. We’ll have ideas and patterns for you on how to use charm packs, jelly
rolls, layer cakes, turnovers, and much, much more! There are currently three projects available exclusively for Moda You Club
members. Two of the three projects have completed quilts in the shoppe made from the Collections for a Cause Traditions
fabric line and the Flag Day Farm fabric line—stop in to see!
Each month receive the pattern for another block of the Moda You Mystery Quilt!
Stop at the shoppe to see the completed sample blocks.
Class meets once each month. Class fee is a one-time yearly fee of $20.00.
Each member will receive two free fat-eighths of Moda fabric each month at the monthly meeting. That’s equal to 24
fat eighths for the full membership year, or the equivalent of 3 yards of fabric! Worth much more than the yearly membership fee! You must be present at the monthly meeting to receive your free fat eighths. And the free fat eighths can be used
as a great start for the Mystery Quilt blocks.

Thangles Buck-A-Block 2010
It’s time to sign up for 2010! The new pattern has arrived, and our fabric selection of reds, greens, gold and black will make
this Thangles Quilt a holiday treasure that you can complete just in time for the 2010 holiday season!
We all know how crazy things can get as we get closer to the holiday season, so we thought we’d get
everyone started early on a holiday quilt of their own—or a holiday gift that you can have completed
almost without having to think about it at all! The first kits will be available mid-January and as you
go through the year sewing your blocks each month, by the time we get to December you’ll have a
fresh, new holiday quilt to share with your friends and family!
Or…. Do more than one and make a gift for someone special for next year! You’ll have your
quilts done before you know it!
The Buck-A Block program will be $1.00 for the small center block, or $3.00 for the larger
bordered block.
Separate Thangles packet purchase of $5.29 will be needed for this year for the finishing kit.
Finishing kits will be assembled with sashing and border fabrics. We are still narrowing our selection
for the border fabric, but expect that the finishing kits will be completed and ready for pickup by

Kansas City Star Block of the Month for 2009—In Reproduction Fabrics
The finishing kits are now ready and available for those who participated in this block of the month. Stop in at the
shoppe soon to pick up your packet so that you can finish your quilt and showcase your quilting skills to your family and friends!
Our shoppe sample is on display in the shoppe—and it’s breathtaking! This block-of-the-month quilt was completed in Reproduction fabrics. There are still a limited number of kits available for the entire set! Finishing kits will also be ready and available soon. This quilt measures a BREATHTAKING 92” x 118” completed—the original monthly blocks are enhanced and made
larger by coordinating fabrics creating twelve 24” blocks for the quilt center, and completed with borders and binding.

you know someone who needs a quilt made but they don’t quilt themselves, or someone who just needs help getting some quilting projects completed, we can help. Stop at the shoppe with the details for the project, and we can provide a quote for
completing the project for you. We want to help quilters—and non-quilters—in every way we can.
Long Arm Quilting Classes and Machine Rental
Longarm Machine Beginning Training Class
A one-on-one session for you to learn the basic operations for sewing on a longarm machine. This class is designed for
individual longarm training, and is a required class before renting time on the longarm machine. You will learn how to load your
quilt onto the machine, start and stop stitching, basting, and 10-12 basic stitches that can be used when quilting your quilt,
including meander, leaves, and several other design variations. Materials for the class are included and your sample sewing is
yours to keep. Class time will be approximately 3 hours depending on the individual, with approximately 1-1/2 hours of
individual one-on-one training, and the remainder of the class time for you to practice the techniques and stitches you have
learned. Additional practice materials can be purchased if you wish to rent machine time to continue practicing before working
on your quilt.
Current class fee is $60.00 including materials. Call to schedule a time—day, evening and Saturday times are available.
Deposit of $30.00 required when signing up.
Long Arm Rental Time
After completing the Beginner Training Class, reserve time on our Gammill Longarm Machine to complete the quilting on your
quilt yourself! We want to provide you with the opportunity to complete your quilt yourself from start to finish! Contact the
shoppe for rental times and fees.
Class Discounts!
Remember—when you sign up for a class at My Sister’s Quilt Shoppe—all class materials purchased at the shoppe required for
that class receive a 10% discount (fabric, pattern, batting, etc.)
Discount for class materials can be received on purchases made any time after class registration is completed and your registration fee is paid, through the day of the class.
Discount is not available for Thimbleberries Quilt Club kits and Thimbleberries Kit Club kits.
My Sister’s class policies
Pre-registration is required for clubs, workshops and classes. Class fee is due at the time of registration. A supply list will be provided. You
will need to bring your basic sewing supplies and a sewing machine in good working condition. Unless noted, classes do not include patterns or
supplies. Unless a class is canceled, no refunds will be given. If you are unable to attend, class fees would be refunded only with at least 5
days notice. In some classes, there is a possibility that you may not be able to finish the entire project in class; however, you will receive instructions on how to complete it. If you need additional assistance, you are always welcome to stop in at the shoppe and we’ll be glad to help!
Pillowcase Challenge
We would like to ask for your participation in the “1 Million Pillowcase Challenge” sponsored by American Patchwork &
Quilting. APQ is launching an effort to make 1,000,000 pillowcases for charities across the country! All you need to do to
participate is to make and donate pillowcases. We will collect them here at the shoppe and donate them to local charities. As
we make the donations, we will register the number of pillowcases donated with their online counter so that APQ can track the
collective progress of quilters and quilt shops across the county—including all those donated through our shoppe!
Details for the “1 Million Pillowcase Challenge” can be found at AllPeopleQuilt.com/millionpillowcases. We’re excited to participate in this community effort to help others in need, and ask that you join us to help make a difference in our
own community and nationwide.

Milwaukee Public Television—Channel 10
Quilting Is Art Showcase
Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10 is hosting a Quilting is Art Contest as part of their 2010 Great TV Auction.
They want to promote quilting as an art form, and are hosting a contest to help in that endeavor. There is $1,500 in prize
money, plus recognition at an art exhibit during the Greater Milwaukee Realtors Home and Garden Show and on television.
Each participant will receive two tickets to the show and an invitation to the Auction GMAR Preview Party. Contest winners
will be recognized at the Preview Party, and submissions may be featured on the Channel 10 Great TV Auction.

Please participate in the Second Annual St. Patrick’s Day Pot O’Gold Challenge!
Create a standard 12” block for St. Patrick’s Day – the only requirement is that the block must have green fabric(s) in
it, and the main fabric color for the block must be green. You can use any design or pattern of your choice. Blocks can be submitted up until St. Patrick’s Day – or March 17th. Every entry brought to the shop by March 16th at 6 P.M. qualifies you to pick
a coin from our Pot O’Gold, which will give you a surprise discount on your next purchase. Discounts range from 5% to 20%.

Voting will take place beginning March 17th and ending on March 27th. The quilter of the winning block will be notified after
