Ford`s Colony Country Club Members, During Traditional

Ford’s Colony Country Club Members,
During Traditional Golf Management’s tenure at Ford’s Colony, we have made every effort
to maintain open and transparent communications with the CCMA board and club members.
With this in mind, we need to make you aware of a recent development pertaining to the
operations of our country club.
As you know, Ford’s Colony Country Club was purchased in November of 2012 by a joint
venture of Accord Golf Capital and Och-Ziff Real Estate. Traditional Golf Management
was retained to oversee the day to day operations of the club. Earlier today, March 20th,
an agreement was reached, whereby Dallas based ClubCorp (NYSE: MYCC) will acquire a
multiclub portfolio of six golf clubs including Fords Colony Country Club from Och-Ziff Real
Estate. ClubCorp will also assume management of the clubs when the transaction is finalized.
ClubCorp is a leading owner-operator of over 200 golf, country, business, sports and alumni
clubs throughout the United States. They have owned and managed private clubs since
1957. More information can be found about the potential new ownership entity at
www.clubcorp.com.
Our goal is to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition with little to no impact to our
members. Both parties have extensive experience in such transitions and our goal is to
maintain the positive atmosphere and momentum currently in place at Ford’s Colony
Country Club. We will work hard to make certain services levels and quality standards are
not interrupted during the transition process.
We are very proud of the improvements we have made at Ford’s Colony Country Club over the
last two and half years and hope that you feel the club is in a better place than it was before
Traditional Golf’s involvement. It has been a great pleasure to work with the friendly members
and enthusiastic staff at Ford’s Colony and we wish nothing but the best for the future of the
club and its members.
The closing date is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th. We understand that this is
coming as a surprise to you and that you will have many additional questions. As further details
become available, we commit to keep you well informed. If you have specific questions or
concerns please feel free to contact club management.

FROM THE DESK OF THE GM
Spring is here and the golf season is upon us. It seems like
it’s been a lifetime since we have seen leaves on the trees and
green grass. After a long winter, our crew is working hard to
get our golf courses in top condition. The implementation of proper agronomic
practices such as aerification, fertilization, tree pruning and irrigation will pay
off during the hot summer months. Due to wet conditions, we have had to
implement the cart path only rule for quite a few days. We thank you for your
understanding and cooperation as we protect our playing surfaces.
We have a great deal of fun events for our members in April. We hope you get
to enjoy our Annual Easter Brunch, the return of Lobster Night and April in
Paris. April also brings in the golf season for many of us. Our golf association’s
events are in full swing. Our club’s Opening Day Golf Tournament is on April
11th. This event is open to all golfing members. On Sunday, April 19th please
come out to the Golf Academy to test out new equipment during our 2015
Demo Day. Eric will have representatives from Titleist, TaylorMade, Adams,
Nike, Cleveland and Cobra onsite to custom fit the best clubs specifically for
you. We hope that this is a big hit with our members and we can schedule
more Demo Days in the future.
Another addition this year for our club members is the introduction of a new
Hole in One Club. After a great deal of discussions and planning with our
CCMA Board and our golf associations, we believe that we have created a way to
better link the ultimate achievement in golf with the wonderful fellowship that
we have within our membership. This self-funded program helps the member
who gets a hole in one to commemorate and celebrate the perfect shot without
having to come out of pocket for a large drink tab that comes along with this
honor. It is free to join. Every time a member in the HIO club gets a hole in
one at Fords Colony, the members who are in the HIO club will be charged $2
on their membership account. The Hole in One Club is based per person and
is open to all golf memberships. Therefore, if you think you are due for a perfect
shot please come by the golf shop to sign up. You can also complete the form
online under the Member Golf tab of the member’s only website.
With the help of our CCMA board, we have updated our Membership Yearbook.
You can find the update online under the Information tab of the club website.
Here you can find all of the information about our memberships, committees,
associations and policies. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Divot Day’s
THANK YOU!!!
On behalf of the entire Club, we
would like to send out a huge thank
you to all who took the time to
participate in Divot Day’s. Thank you
for helping the club keep up the high
standards in quality that we hold for
FCCC. Your dedication and commitment to supporting FCCC truly shines
bright within these gates. We are so
proud to have such a motivated, engaged, and dynamic membership that
is second to none. THANK YOU!!!
Note: Not everyone who participated in Divot Days is pictured
Food and Beverage Bites
April showers bring May flowers. Hopefully we
can continue with this amazing weather as we
enjoy all the treats spring has to offer.
March was a great month in the events department. Our annual
St Patrick’s Day events were sold out in every venue. Men’s Night
Out and Ladies Night Out were all great events with a lot of
support from the membership. Wednesday’s Moroccan buffet was
shared with a few of your neighbors and friends, and everyone
enjoyed sharing the club experience with our non-member guests.
This month we celebrate “April in Paris”. Hopefully the weather
holds up so we can use the Members’ Terrace to have the buffet
set up under the stars. Patio dining is back in full swing! With the
new furniture and the new paint it is the most relaxing place to be.
This year Easter brunch was a fast sell in the Members’ Grille and
Dining Room. Harry’s brunch is still available for reservations on
Easter Sunday and will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. instead
of the usual 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Members’ Grille Spring menu is now available with the
addition of some new local ingredients including fresh crab, rock
fish, asparagus, rhubarb, artichokes and much more. The lighter
spring menu is fresher and healthier with salads, fresh fish, and
grilled steaks. The braising pots have been put away until fall.
They new beverage carts have been flying around the club.
We have three brand new beverage carts and additional products
this year as we continually work to improve your options.
From the Greens
Well Spring is finally here!!
We have been busy this winter in the Golf
Operations area with updating the Golf Shop, getting the staff
ready for the season and merchandising the new apparel. We
have also been working with the Golf & Greens Committee on
the overall presentation of our products as well as the HRT
Committee on the year’s upcoming events.
The CCMA Board and FCCC management have also been busy
creating and implementing the new club wide Hole in One
Program. The program highlights are as follows:
• It is open to all golf membership categories.
• Enrollment is voluntary, it is opt-in for the first year.
• It runs through December 31st, there is no option
to stop during the year.
• The open enrollment period will end on April 11th.
This will determine interest and a dollar amount.
• It is free to join with no upfront charge.
• Anytime a member of the HIO club gets a hole in one
your account will be charged $2.00.
• If you are lucky enough to get a hole in one your credit book
will receive the total amount in the kitty. It can be used in
Food & Beverage and/ or the Golf Shop.
• If we do not have at minimum of 125 people signed by
April 11th the program will be put on hold.
I hope everyone has the opportunity to plant a garden this spring.
Fresh herbs make all the difference in getting great flavors and
staying healthier. I hope everyone has a great month and I look
forward to seeing you at the club.
I would like to thank all of you who participated in the club’s
Divot Days. It is greatly appreciated by all. We had a total of 100
members in the 3 divot days. A special thank you to John Zivica
for organizing it all.

Grass Clippings
What a winter!
The late winter thaw left us with the task of
re-prioritizing our late winter / early spring
to-do list. As a result, the tree project on Blue Heron has been
rescheduled for next winter.
Our concentration now must be directed towards our playing
surfaces, with focus on the health of our greens and the application
of pre and post emergence weed control to the tees, fairways,
and rough. We will continue to cross items off of our to-do
list but at a slower rate than previously anticipated due to
the harsh winter we endured.
Another item on all of our minds: how are the Blue Heron
greens? After pulling core samples out of the greens and
warming the samples using only a table lamp, we were
ecstatic to see that the cores began growing within 3 days!
As they say on Duck Dynasty, Happy, Happy, Happy!
I look forward to seeing you on the course.

Hole-in-One
Club
Attention ALL golf members:
Associate Golf and Full Golf!
Ford’s Colony CC and the CCMA have worked together to
create a Hole-in-One Club that is open to all members and
is free to join! Celebrate one of the most coveted golfing
achievements with your friends and fellow members with a
membership based, self-funded program that allows a pay out
to be used by the member who gets a hole-in-on. Allow us
to touch on a few more details:
• There is no initial fee, and enrollment is voluntary.
• Each time member who has joined the HIO (Hole-in-One)
Club gets a hole in one, each individual who has opted into the
HIO Club will have $2 charged to their membership account.
• This money is put into a credit book for that lucky member,
where 50% is recommended to be used for Food and Beverage
purchases. This is so you are able to open a tab to celebrate your
achievement with fellow members and friends without touching
your pocket! Any F&B purchase used with this credit must be
used the day of your hole in one unless otherwise approved by
management.
• Once the tab is closed the remainder of the balance is put into
a credit book. You will be able to use this for merchandise or even
to commemorate your shot with one of the trophy options that
will be in the Golf Shop.
• Stipulations: Your hole-in-one must be on a Ford’s Colony golf
course, witnessed and attested by at least 2 others, and reported
to a Golf Shop manager. The credit book cannot be used toward
your food and beverage minimum.
On May 7th the Men’s Golf Association will be holding its 20th
annual golf tournament to support the Olde Towne Medical &
Dental Center. Part of this year’s fundraising event will once
again include a Silent Auction of original art created and
We will need the participation of at least 125 members to put
this Club in motion. Sign-ups begin on Sunday, March 1st and
will end on Saturday, April 11th. If we are unable to gain enough
participation, the plan will be put on hold. You can sign up in
the golf shop or go online to the member’s only website, click on
Golf, and choose Hole in One Club to read all of the details and
fill out an online form that will be submitted electronically.
FCCC recognizes outstanding achievement!
Many of you have seen club maintenance worker John (JP) Piggott around the club
hard at work, but did you know that JP is also an undisputed local legend in the
running community? According to MarathonGuide.com JP has won 10 marathon
championships as well as countless 5ks, 10ks and half marathons championships.
If you ask him, he couldn’t tell you how many he has won because to him, it’s not
so much about the accomplishment of winning, but the personal goal of taking on
a challenge and seeing it to the end.
JP wasn’t born a runner. In fact he ran his first Marathon at the age of 30. Thirteen
years later at the age of 43 he took on a challenge that left many in a mixed state
of awe and bewilderment. That year, in 2008, JP ran a total of 17 marathons.
In six consecutive weeks John Piggott ran six marathons in Canada, New Jersey,
Minnesota, Ohio, and North Carolina. What’s even more remarkable is that
during this revered marathon of marathons his worst time was 2:41.04.
As it has been decided since the beginning, just before his 50th birthday, John
Piggott retired from the Marathon scene Sunday, March 15th. His last and
175th marathon was the One City in Newport News, VA where he finished
12th overall and 4th in his age group.
The Lafayette High School track team will continue to benefit from JP’s expertise
as he continues coaching with no end date in site.
John (JP) Piggott
The Daily Press interviewed JP and has written an article highlighting his
achievements, paying him his much deserved recognition. Go to Dailypress.com
and search John Piggott to read more.
