Coaches Musselman and Ladders have been hard at work drilling and conditioning their squads ready for the upcoming season. Practices have taken place after school on Mondays and Wednesday for girls and Tuesday and Thursday for boys. 9th grade-White 10th grade-Blue 11th grade-Red 12th grade-Black Tuesday 14th Character Day -Dress as a character Wednesday 15th Pajama Day Thursday 16th Twin Day/Triplet Day Friday 17th Clash Day WASC Friday saw both the WASC self-study and new Action Plan published you can view these at the highschool website http://www.cdshighschool.weebl y.com Centennial Christian School were the visitors for the opening game of 2015. Unfortunately the girls game had to be reduced to 7 a side due to a lack of numbers from CCS and the smaller pitch and goals made scoring difficult for our girls. Despite dominating possession and territory throughout they were unable to fill the net meaning a frustrating 0-0 draw was the result. Joint captains Ebony Cho and Kate Yoo both impressed showing that the hard preseason training was worthwhile and the switch to a larger pitch should see goals start to flow in the next fixture. Following the girls game captain James Park led his boys team onto the pitch, the line up showed many new faces as several 9th and 10th graders made their debuts. The early nerves were settled almost instantly as debutant Jeff Kwon opened the scoring. Speed was the order of the day as Kyungbin Lee, Yun Sang Jeon and Paul Han tore down the wings leaving CCS looking exposed with each attack and the score quickly ran up to 4-1 by half time. The second half saw CDS continue their dominance as Miguel(looking like a veteran despite being in 8th grade) Batanero,James Park and Junwoo Lee controlled the midfield and added some slick passing to the athletic displays of the forwards. Even the switch of Harry(2goals)Park with goalkeeper Louis Yeo didn’t halt the avalanche of goals as Louis decided to get in on the goals with an arrow like finish from the edge of the 6 yard box. The game finished with a 10-1 victory but the boys must beware overconfidence as their will be tougher opponents to come. Scorers: Jeff Kwon (2), Harry Park (2), Justin Rhee(2), Yun Sang Jeon (2), James Park, Louis Yeo Issue 18: April 10th , 2015 Weekly Newsletter Congratulations to the following students who have been accepted into college since the last newsletter.
