Policies
All customers must register and pay for classes in advance. We recommend signing up for classes
well in advance because all classes have limited seating. If a customer is a "no-show" for a paid
class, no refund will be issued. If a customer cancels a paid class with a 48 hour notice, the customer
will be issued a credit towards another class fee. If Northampton Beadery cancels a class for any
reason, a full refund will be issued to the customers in the form of a check. If a customer is a "noshow" for any class, we reserve the right to refuse future class sign ups from that customer. Unless
otherwise stated in the class description, material & supply costs are not included in class fees.
Unless otherwise stated in the class descriptions, 3-6 students are needed to run each class.
Photographs of each class project are available on our website under the section Classes & Events.
Students will receive 10% off class related materials and tools purchased from Northampton Beadery
the day of the class.

The Very Basics
Leather Woven Bracelet –
New to jewelry? Start here! In this class students will
learn all of the basics: making a bracelet by attaching a
clasp and creating a simple pair of earrings. The teacher
will go over the tools of the trade, proper techniques
and appropriate materials for your projects. Be
prepared to get hooked!

Basic Wire Work
New to jewelry? Start here! This is the perfect class for
students who are new to jewelry making and want to
know more about wire. The instructor will go over
several techniques including simple loops, wrapped
loops, jumprings, briolette wraps, head pins & eye pins,
and connecting loops. You’ll learn what tools and wire
are needed for each project. This is primarily a
technique class, but the participant can choose to make
a basic chain necklace utilizing these introductory
techniques.

A flat piece of deerskin lace leather weaves in and out
between alternating beads in this clever bracelet. A
variety of techniques, such as crimping and riveting, are
utilized in the making of this bracelet. A comfortable Shook clasp finishes this unique piece.

Birds Nest Pendant
There is no fee for these classes, just a materials kit fee.
These classes are project oriented and are great for
every skill level. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to
choose materials. 4-7 students are needed to run our
Fee-Less classes.
This adorable wire pendant project is deceptively easy!
An extra-long piece of wire is haphazardly wrapped
around three bead "eggs" and finished off with a
wrapped loop.
$10 Fee Classes!
We’re now offering a handful of $10 fee classes with a
modest material kit fee. These classes are project
oriented and are great for every skill level. Please arrive
10-15 minutes early to choose materials. 4-7 students
are needed to run these classes.

Trillion Briolette Earrings -
Delicate Dragonfly Bracelet
Fee-Less Class
A strung dragonfly appears to be flying toward a flower
on this charming bracelet. The clasp becomes part of
the design with a beaded loop and glass flower button.
This little bracelet is the perfect cure for spring fever!
This class is intended for extra practice on the everchallenging briolette wrap. These earrings feature
peridot trillion beads that dangle in front of a prehammered metal disc.

Blooming Earrings
Take a break from the traditional dangly earrings on a
headpin and make these clever ones on sterling beading
wire! The proper use of the 2-step crimping pliers will
be addressed in this class.

Mixed Metal Earrings
How many metals can be used in one pair of earrings?
Well, at least 4 – sterling silver, 14k gold-filled, antique
brass and copper. This pair of earrings was inspired by
the mixed metal craze in jewelry design.

Chained In Donut Earrings
These earrings give you an opportunity to use some of
those donuts you’ve collected over the years. A piece of
chain captures the semi-precious donut and semiprecious stone beads and sterling wire is added. No
previous wire working experience necessary.

Nugget Cluster Leather
Necklace – Fee-Less Class
The natural inconsistency in the shape of nugget beads
make them a challenge to use more than one in the
same piece. This necklace uses that quality to its
advantage – the more inconsistent the shape, the more
interesting the final product. Attaching a clasp to
leather cord will be discussed.

Squiggle Hoop Earrings
Enclose a special bead inside these cute, squiggly
hoops! A wrapped loop attaches a ballpin to a wavy
piece of hammered wire. Students will use a cup bur to
smooth out the end of the earwire.

Totally Tubular Bracelet
Are you intrigued by beadweaving but unsure of where
to start? This project-based class may be the one for
you. An even-count peyote tube is woven around a
thick piece of leather cord. A convenient magnet clasp is
glued to the leather’s ends.

Hammered Oval Earrings -
Swarovski Tennis Bracelet –
Fee-Less Class
Janet’s Bracelet Series
Although the hammered sterling ovals take center
stage, the beads are of equal importance. Individually
attached with wrapped loops, they feature many colors
and will go with a variety of outfits. This pair of earrings
is destined to become your go-to earrings!
Cubes and square stitch come back for an encore. The
bracelet encloses 6mm Swarovski crystal bicones with
cubes for a bracelet that's fast to make and big on
impact. The look can be anywhere from graphic to
perfectly pretty, depending on your color choice.

helps you to create 5 beautiful bracelets using different
off-loom bead weaving techniques. Students are not
required to sign up for all 5 classes. Take as many (or as
little) classes in the series that you would like. Sign up

Tila Bead Bracelet – Janet’s
Bracelet Series
Using Tila 2-hole beads, Swarovski crystals, size 11's and
15's seed beads and working with two needles gives you
a fast and satisfying delicate piece of arm candy. These
lend themselves to multiples, too!

Tila & Mini Cube Bracelet –
Janet’s Bracelet Series
Tilas and cubes seem made for each other and this
bracelet will let you use them both. Cubes enclose each
tila bead and are used for square stitch to make a
bracelet with a lot of texture. Bonus--easy way to learn
the versatile but overlooked square stitch.

Embellished Flat RAW –
Janet’s Bracelet Series
Flat Right Angel Weave (RAW) can be done with bugles
or Czech fire-polish rounds and have a completely
different look. Then, the base of your choice can be
embellished by almost anything you can sew on with a
beading needle. This is probably the most versatile
technique offered in this series.

Hugs & Kisses Bracelet –
Janet’s Bracelet Series
Hugs and Kisses bracelets are the hardy perennials of
the bead world, but this one has an added twist.
Instead of simple crosses made of seed beads, daggers
are added to give it texture and an edgy touch.

Bone and Chip Multi Strand
Double Sided Necklace

(Medium Layer Necklace)
The inspiration for this bracelet began with the multistrand bone components. Small chips and rounds were
added to create a natural, earthy look. The closure is
included as an integral part of the design. Strung on a
braided beading thread, this supple bracelet feels
extremely light and comfortable to wear.

Leather Wrap Bracelet
You see these bracelets everywhere. Now learn how to
make your own for a fraction of the cost! Using leather,
6mm beads and a unique bead weaving technique,
create a fashionable 2 wrap bracelet. Students are
required to purchase necessary tools to make their
bracelet. 4 Students are needed to run this class.

Get the Layered Look!
Layering different length necklaces is the hot trend this
season. Create your own layered look with coordinating
beads and colors. This is a three session series of
classes. Students may take one class, two classes or all
three classes. 4 Students are needed to run each class.
Sign up for all three classes for only $35!
This necklace can be worn in a few different ways due
to the strategically placed beads. A focal sterling silver
bead finishes off this versatile necklace.

Long Lentil Necklace
(Longest Layer Necklace)
Czech glass top-drilled lentil beads dangle from an
open-link chain in this fun and flirty necklace! Each bead
is added to the chain individually with wire. With such a
pleasurable result, participants may wish to add more
beads than what the sample shows.

Stamp of Love Bracelet
“Stamp” some love into your life with this sweet
bracelet! Large letters are stamped into individual blank
discs and then textured with a ball pein hammer. The
use of a metal hole punch allows the discs to be
attached. Wrapped loop linking beads complete the
piece.

No Holds Bar Necklace
Eiffel Tower Earrings
(Shortest Layer Necklace)
This sweet, little necklace captures the barely-there
style that has become quite popular as of late. The
insertion of beads in chain is a common design element
and this class is the perfect introduction to that style.
These earrings recreate the famous French landmark on
a smaller scale for your ears. Herringbone stitch is
woven to create the frame of the tower and inclusions
are added for support. When you ask yourself if you
want to make these eye-catching earrings, the obvious
answer is “but, of course!”

Basic Wire Wrapped Ring
Beaded Kumihimo Bracelet
Making wire rings present a challenge all their own –
sizing! In this class, the intricacies of ring sizing will be
discussed and addressed when making this simple, yet
elegant, ring. As the band is hammered, purchase of an
aluminum ring mandrel is required for participation.
This Japanese form of braid-making is very addictive! In
this class the teacher will show you how to create an 8
strand kumihimo beaded braid bracelet. The teacher
will discuss finishing techniques and appropriate
stringing materials. Students are required to purchase
necessary tools for this class.

Pearl Knotting
In this class you will learn how to give your pearls that
classic knotted look. The instructor will teach you the
techniques of knotting using silk and a special knotting
tweezer. Also learn why it is safer to have knots in
between your precious beads and pearls. Students are
required to purchase knotting tweezers.

Side Spiral Ring
This ring is a just a little off-center with two spirals to
the side of the druzy oval bead. In this class, the
intricacies of ring sizing will be discussed and addressed.
As the band is hammered for hardening, purchase of an
aluminum ring mandrel is required for participation.

Triple Row Leather Cuff
Tree of Life Pendant
This is not your average leather wrap bracelet! Create a
stylish 3 row cuff bracelet by combining leather, 2
different size beads and cord. This class is not
recommended for beginners. High dexterity is needed
for this particular bracelet. 3-4 students are needed to
run this class.
The tree of life holds special meanings in each belief
and religion. It is a popular symbol in many designs
today. Learn how to create a pendant using semiprecious gemstone chips and sterling silver wire.

Custom Earwires
Are you ready to take your wire skills to the next level?
Create your very own custom earwires using several
different techniques. Students will learn how to make

Cascading Rain Drop
Earrings
April showers bring these earrings! Handmade wire
drops are formed, wrapped and hammered. A briolette
bead dangles at the bottom. Custom earwires will be
discussed as well.

Gear Chandelier Earrings
Multi Strand Leather Bracelet
These earrings take the classic chandelier style and give
it a funky, steampunk twist! Using the metal hole punch
tool, holes are punched in the brass gear component.
These earrings are guaranteed to be a conversation
piece!

Loop & Chain Bracelet
Create an organic, wavy form with thick wire as the
basis of this bracelet. Large nugget beads are woven
into the freeform shape. To complete the bracelet, large
chain is attached and culminates with a handmade
toggle bar for closure. *Piece can also be made in
copper if desired.

Be on-trend with this multi-strand leather bracelet!
Three strands of leather are knotted and grouped
together by beads to create a scalloped effect in the
leather cording. Participants will also learn how to
attach a clasp to cording.

Beautiful glass dagger and spade shaped beads hang
from a stiff memory wire ring. Jewelry tubing is added

Zuni Bear Necklace - Kids
Kids Classes!
Class!
Material costs are included in all kids’ class fees. 4-6
students are needed to run our kids classes.
Recommend for ages 7 and up.
A sleek, semi-precious zuni bear dangles in the middle
of this industrial-looking necklace. Participants will
make a simple loop on a headpin to attach the zuni bear
bead as well as learn how to finish the convenient and
easy crimp-n-go necklace.
Double Infinity Stretch
Bracelet - Kids Class!
Link two stretchy bracelets together to form one with
two infinity signs. Participants will string beads on
stretchy cord and learn how to properly finish it off.

Precious Metal Clay Class
PMC (Precious Metal Clay) is a clay-like material made
of tiny particles of pure silver, water and a nontoxic
binder. After the PMC is dried and fired in a kiln, the
water and binder are driven off and you are left with
pure silver. The instructor will teach you the basics in
molding, texturing and layering and will fire your PMC
pieces in a kiln. You will be left with pure silver pieces
that you have created! No previous experience is
necessary. Students will receive a 30-minute lunch
break during the class. This is a one-day session class.

interested.
Here’s your chance to expand your metal clay skills.
Develop larger pendants, bracelets, or more
complicated pieces. Your pieces will be fired in a large
kiln off site and will be returned to you on a later date.
Previous experience with PMC is a prerequisite. 3-8
students are needed to run each workshop. Students
are NOT required to sign up for all workshops,
students can just sign up for one or two or three or
whatever you want! Please call the store ahead of time
to confirm available space.
