OVERVIEW
The past decade has witnessed resurgence in Africa's place in the global
economy. With the last global economic crises taking a huge toll on the
economies of the US, Europe and Asia, Africa has become the hottest
destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), with net FDI inflows to
African countries growing by 16.2 per cent to $43 billion in 2013,
according to the world bank. Several Authoritative reports have
portrayed the continent as the world's next economic miracle.
African Leadership Magazine's Annual Business Leadership Awards was
instituted to recognize those business leaders and innovators that are
driving the current Africa boom and shaping Africa's Economic Future.
The Award ceremony will follow a high level forum convened by the
African Leadership Magazine that will bring together thought African
leaders from politics, the private sector, civil society and academics to
take stock of Africa's Economic performance, her increased resilience to
shocks, and the key ongoing Economic policy challenges.
